Thanks for the vote, just installed mine the evening of 23-DEC.

I will say with SilverStar H1 bulbs in them, they are down right awesome lights, and the aiming mech on them is real nice to adjust with a 6mm hex key.

Sorry! Didn't mean to knock on those who have them! :o

I'm sure they are kick-*** lights, especially when heading down a trail/back road at night, I just think they only look right on a dark colored trucks, especially with a bull bar/lift/etc to add to the "off road" look. The truck in that picture looks like an XL or STX..

I just picture it on my truck (dark copper) and, IMO, it would look terrible against the copper/beige, though admittedly I have never seen it in person.

Didn't mean to offend!

You can always build your own bracket system and mount them behind the grill on your 2004. Since the grill comes up with the hood, there's a ton of room for you to work in there. Below is a picture of mine and there's more pictures in my gallery showing exactly how to build and install this setup.

Check out this link:

He started it because he painted the area around his headlight bulbs black, but he also mounted lights behind his grill. Shows the mounting bracket he used in a later post. Looks pretty good to me.

No problem, now that I look I forgot an emotioncon in that post.

The grille surround comes off of it, and can be painted, just like what would be done on the HD grille when used with something other then black.

I am still deciding if I am painting it Dark Stone or not. It was not fun putting the the HD grille back together after painting that surround Dark Stone, so there is look, and PITA in the decision process. Then again it is winter, so it mostly Grey / white from road grime and salt

I think you'll find that the '99 - '03 trucks already have a Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) cross member in just about the exact position you'll need. I simply stiffened the one in my '99 up with a piece of aluminum and added the lights to it.

Not fogs but my lights

They aren`t fogs but the idea is the same for an install.....used 1" sqaure aluminum for the cross pieces and flat 1" bar aluminum for the uprights..bolted to the bumper bolts...grounded lights to that bolt..ran hot lead up through firewall to switch in dash(see pic)..got the 12v from the cigarette lighter power....painted the square tube and bar black with BBQ paint..wrapped the uprights(why?) with foam tubes...all the wires are in the sqaure tube...then inside a wire loom where they exit the square tube and run down one upright bracket...these lights are 2- 4 watt Led Lightheads....we use up here in Ontario for Volunteer Firefighters

Hella 500s

You can see the Hella 500s behind my grille below. On the 98 they are really easy to install upside down from a support behind the grille. They are very bright but still protected.
