power window trouble fixed

I just thought I would contribute to this thread since it provides me with so much information. I recently rolled the driver's side window down on my 2006 F150 SC FX4. I had been noticing touchy performance on my roll up. The switch seemed a little goofy and didn't seem to be making contact. Well, it got stuck down and wouldn't roll up. I felt it must be the switch. I removed the necessary door trim, and pulled the arm rest apart to get to the switch. It is actually a block of 5 switches. I disassembled the switch pack until I could see the contacts. The contacts on Driver switch up were corroded and black, eliminating electrical transfer between them on contact. A little sand paper between them and very minor bending to increas contact and all is well. If anyone else has this problem, I hope it helps. It seems like maybe the switch got wet at some point?

I'm having th esame problems with my driver side window not wanting to roll up sometimes i figured i'd have to replace the whole armrest switch bank. I'll have to try what you did and see if it helps, does the switch part on the bottom pull out easily from the armrest part?

I had the same problem. Ford replaced the defective switch during my last oil change. It should be covered under your warranty

out of warranty

It should be covered, if you are in warranty. I have 38k, so I am outside warranty. Besides, I would always work on my truck myself, even the oil changes. The switch is very easy to remove. The silver part that covers the speakers pops off, then the top part of the arm rest, with the switches in it snaps off, but is a bit stubborn. The switch pack is easy to remove from there. If you search online, Muth Signal Mirrors has a pdf file that shows how to disassemble the door...let me know if I can help more

Might want to try a little waterproofing abound the switches. When it's raining, the door handle seems to channel water to the switch location.
No problems on my 05.

I have my truck in the shop right now because the passanger side and rear driver side will not work with the switch for that door, but will work off of the master cluster. The dealership told me it is probably the master driver side switch causing problems for the other switches? I should have the truck back later today and will know for sure then.

I think in the past vehicles had a drivers door module that could make that happen. But I dont think newer f-150's do. But I guess time will tell. Let us know..
