Look up the fuse in your owners manuel. Pull it for a few minutes then replace it.
It may reset the message center, then see what you get.

Some trucks - when ordered with the special "housekeeping package" will tell you to "sweep gauges" when they get dirty.

LMAO @ the housekeeping package.... :rofl

I just checked the service manual and found the "sweep gauges" isn't something they have a diagnostic procedure for..... no idear. Maybe try calling a stealership service dept?

Is this the "low battery" symptom - possibly "extended" in trucks with message centers to provide a "readout"? (I'm referring to the "gauge sweep" that can occur after starting a truck with a weak battery). I've not seen this on mine. When my battery died, it was DEAD!

Is your starter turning over normally? If not, I'd get the battery load tested and maybe replaced.

I am referring to my message center showing the words "sweep gauges", the gauges themselves don't sweep. Is this the same condition you are referring to Jack

The Instrument Cluster Self-Diagnostic Mode was entered ( either by accident by pressing a button, or the buttons are stuck.

First section on entering self test, and the first 2 items :

Instrument Cluster Self-Diagnostic Mode
To exit the instrument cluster self-test mode, turn the ignition to the OFF position.
To enter the instrument cluster self-diagnostic mode with the ignition key in the OFF position, press and hold the odometer reset button (except message center cluster) or simultaneously press and hold the message center RESET and SETUP buttons (message center cluster).
Turn the key to the RUN position and hold until the display indicates TEST, usually within 3 to 5 seconds.
Press the RESET button once to advance through each stage of the self-test.

TEST

SWEEP GAUGES Carries out the gauge sweep of all the gauges, then displays the present gauge values.
Also carries out the checksum test on the ROM and EEPROM.
Are you accidentally hitting the buttons ?
I know about every 30th time I accidentally hit the Select button on my msg center pad when turning the truck off.
