Any one know how to disable the interior and bed lights when the doors are opened. Am getting sick of being lit up like a Chrismas tree every time I open the doors. Thanks

If you can find somewhere in the wiring harness, the wires that go to the door switch, cut one of them and tape it off. That way you can still manually turn the lights on when you want to. If you never want to use these lights, I'd take out the bulbs. Problem with pulling the fuse is that there may be other stuff on the same fuse.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I tried looking for an exclusive fuse with no luck. Pulling the blubs is not an option because I want to turn them on when I want to, just not every time I open the door. The truck is a 2000 Lariat. Again thanks

In the Central Junction Box, fuse panel just below and to the left of steering wheel, there are 2 connectors feeding it. The connectors have 34 pins each. One has 22 wires, Connector 242, and the other one has 24 wires, Connector 243. The one with 22 wires should have 2 wires that are Black with Light Blue stripe. These 2 wires feed the interior lights. They should be almost side by side.

Disable automatic interior lights?

Did you ever get this to work on your 07? I also have been looking for a way to disable the interior lights from coming on when you open the door. Someone said the owners manual tells you how to do it but I did not see it in mine. I know you can just turn down the dimmer switch all the way, but you would would be constantly turining it up and down at night. Up when you drive and down just before you open the door.

In my 2006, I can just rotate the dash light dimmer wheel all the way down until it clicks off. Shuts of the interior and bed lights.
