SCT: Livewire TS 5015 or Xcal3?

Hello Everyone,

Feeling that need to tune my truck again (had a evo device with php canned tunes before) But needed the money and decided I'd rather give SCT a try so I sold it.

Now I'd really like to see which fits best. Of course I'm looking at custom tunes now, and I dont know if dropping the $400 for an xcal3 is sufficient for my needs or do I want to spend another $300 more and get the fancy gauges and ability to store more tunes on the livewire. While my move to SCT comes from the ability to get dyno or email tunes from many different firms instead of just one, I'm stuck on what device to choose.

My truck is 2008 F-150 5.4L 4x4 with DWV/Gotts intake mod and 3" SI/2.5" DO exhaust so far.

Can someone fill me in why I should bite the bullet for the livewire over the xcal3?

Thanks in advance

I'm interested in the same thing, but for my 5.0... Not to jack your thread but my question is, if I buy from 5 start and it comes with 3 tunes, the xcal3 will be full, so if I but say the ghost cam tun from jlp do I lose one of my tunes from 5star or can you save them to a computer?

From my understanding you can have as many tunes saved on your computer and just upload the ones you plan on working with. Switching of tunes should be relatively easy once you get the hang of the software to do updates and downloads onto the device

& to add to that i'm more then likely going to get a xcal3. Should suffice for my needs, and I have the option of purchasing an ultragauge or a pillar gauges
