Beeping when door is open
Beeping when door is open
Hi, I'm new to ford trucks, just got an F-150 2011 model. This weekend I spent some time playing with the nav system and learning the truck while camping. When the door is open, there is a constant beep/tone going on which is really annoying. Can this be turned off using a programmer of some type?
Pull the key out if the ignition.....
Read your owners manual....there might be a disable sequence.....
Edit......
After further research into your question I've found this out......
It involves cutting a wire in your steering column.......

I've read somewhere here I think that you can cut a wire under the steering wheel but it also disengages the auto unlock so if you lock your doors and have the keys inside it will lock them inside but not a issue if you have the key pad on the outside

I fixed it by using a screwdriver to close the door latch while it was open. It tricks the truck into thinking the door is actually closed. Just dont forget that you did that because you won't be able to close your door without opening it up again.
That doesn't work for tailgating too well.

Switch in "ON" or "CLOSED" poistion, everything works as designed.
Switch in "OFF" or "OPEN" position, no buzzer and make sure you have a key or know the entry code.
Or locate the buzzer itself and apply the same switch to one of the leads to the buzzer instead, likely easier to reach.
