Exclamation SCT X2 TUNES FOR 5.4 2v SWAP in +04 PROBLEMS

so i just recieved my used SCT x2 9415 off ebay to replace my superchips tuner. the seller said it was BRAND NEW never used. fortunately it was at least stock w/ 3 unlocks.

i tried to program truck but said ERROR: NO INDEX FILES.
i thought it came with 3 canned tunes that i can modify plus the ability for 3 custom tunes. i tried to update the statagy flash but it said its not a statagy flash device
whats up with this<<?>>

i was gonna have VMP send me a custom tune but i think id be better off getting a DYNO tune to get the A/F dead on. i have a 03 2v 5.4 block running the 4.6 intake manifold w/adapter plates, custom k n intake w/ no elbow, shortty headers, and the 4.6 higher stall TC. its an unregular set up

if anyone has a tune file for a 04-05 f150 with the 4.6 PCM code RAB7 that would be groovy

Not 100% sure, but did he set the tuner back to stock before sending it to you?

yeah it was set to stock. but i had to download LIVELOAD to erase previous file. it is now UNLOCKED. that was my first concern. it seems that i can erase everything and turn my x2 9415 to a 9000 model. why someone would want to do this is beyond me. i suspect thats what they did see- http://www.sctflash.com/support/inde...kbarticleid=35
its a nonreversable action. im already lost and i havnt even tried the datalogging yet

Download live load for the EXCAL2 9400. someone can email you a tune for a stock setup that will give you timing, fuel, shift points and preasure. you can then put it in position 1 and apply the new program. Nice thing is a dyno tune can be put on position 2 so you have multiple tune set ups.

ok i got my custom tune from VMP tuning today. it only took like 3 days. i was gonna do a dyno tune but i didnt want to wait.

i installed the 91 tune i ordered. now the truck dosnt start!!!!!
WTF

the install went smoothly, im lost what would cause this. maybe he sent me the wrong tune???

i should of just got a 87 tune. im planning on datalogging with a W/B to get the WOT right. maybe i can read the knock and back it off the timing to run 87.

Contact Justin. Don't even try to reinstall the tune without having him on the phone.

im very pleased VMP service. he even sent me another tune with the rear o2s off so i can install wideband sensor. he said he would even review my datalogs and adjust if nessasry.

so i think the reason the first tune didnt work was cause of my aftermarket autostart. a plug was unplugged. i didnt reinstall first tune so i cant verify.

the truck runs 100% better. very happy. i thought i had a vac leak or something because the truck would hesitate when i mashed it. not anymore. just spins the tires.
the shifting feels like how it should have been from the factory. the throttle feels much more linear. the truck wants to go now.

i had a canned superchips tuner before this and what a difference.
