Difference in Gyphon?

Is there much difference between the evos and Gyphons on a stock 05 with 5.4 truck?

Yes+No
Edge evolutions can only have canned tunes

Php monochrome gryphon can have canned php tunes AND php custom tunes......the gryphon canned tunes have been tweeked by Bill@php to give your truck better performance over the edge canned tunes and at anytime you'd like to order custom tunes for your truck you can.....of course there's a wait for those.....

Both programmers share the same characteristics as far as monitoring and displays......

the 93 octane canned tune on the POS Edge makes less power and driveability than one of bills 87 octane tunes

As stated above, plus, the downshifting improvements Bill makes in the Gryphon custom tunes are far better than the Edge.

I had the Edge for 31,000 and thought I was content. It was much better than stock. I finally got custom 87 and 93 tunes from PHP and would hate to return to the Edge canned tunes. As stated above, the 87 Perf custom tune is better than the 93 canned tune. I have about 74,000 on the custom tune.

Now that you added the CS onto your question my previous post becomes garbage.....so disregard it......

CS evolution and the CS gryphon ARE EXACTLY THE SAME THING!

There is no difference........The only thing Bill@php does is he is able to load custom tunes on them using edge's fusion server......so you don't need to buy a php CS but it would be nice if you'd support them......

And, you get your custom tunes for half the price you'd pay otherwise. Oh, one more advantage you get with the CS, is that Bill can leave the canned tunes on the device when you add custom tunes. The CS can hold up to 20 different tunes, if you like to "collect" them.

Bluejay, a little highjacking maybe, but have you had a chance to run that 93 performance from php yet? If so, could you comment on it compared to the 87?

Do you have to send in the tuner to get custom tunes or can bill just email them and then just update the unit?

I've had it for about 3 years so yes, I have tried it. It is very strong and the shifting/downshifting is the same as the 87 Perf. Since the 87 Perf was better than the canned Level 3 on 93, I have been totally satisfied with running the 87 Perf all the time and saving the difference in fuel cost.
