5+ months waiting for php tune

Some of you guys seem to be pretty familiar with PHP.

I ordered my edge through them in mid Oct 2010. After many unanswered emails I finally got through to Corey in January 2011 and she mentioned my info had been lost and that my new file was now on Bill's desk. About 2 weeks later I spoke to Bill personally on the phone and he claimed my 87 perf tune would be done in 1 week. EDIT: This was just under 2 months ago. Bill can and will obviously take as long he needs to do a tune but I take issue with being told one thing, and then seeing no results, and receiving no communication on the matter.

I've emailed php twice in the past month with no response. In my email I asked Bill if there was someone else I could harass so as not to distract him from more important work? Nothing. I have tried to be polite and patient throughout this waiting period but I've finally hit my limit. I've been waiting more than 5 months for a simple 87 performance tune.....this is the entire reason I purchased the edge in the first place. If php is unable to provide me a tune due to unforeseen events I can absolutely accept this and wish them the best, however, I think it would be reasonable for them to tell me what the deal is so that I can find a solution elsewhere.

What would you guys suggest I do? I hate to come on the forums and make a statement like this but they've literally left me out in the cold at this point.

I've recently signed up at they're tech support chat site but there has been no reponse to my question so far. Could be too late for them. Any help would be appreciated. The people at PHP seem VERY nice and helpful when you can actually get ahold of them but the overall customer service level is unacceptable. This is not a smear campaign. I'd simply like to get my tune and enjoy my truck, and failing that get my money returned so that we can go our separate ways.

Sorry to hear that man.. I am not personally familiar with them, but if you search a few of these threads it seems that there has been some personal and health issues with some of their staff that has really set them back...

I am familiar with this situation and it's definitely an unfortunate one. This is actually why I waited almost 6 months to come to the forum and ask for help.
I wish everyone at php the best and would simply like to have my situation resolved.

John, PHP is run by only a few people and Bill hand writes each tune by hand. From what I've heard they work very hard and you aren't the only one waiting. They do have quality stuff but I agree that the wait shouldn't have been drawn out. You could look for a local programmer (like I did) and have it done in under an hour.

I wouldn't let a local tuner touch my truck. They don;t have the knowledge these custom tuners like PHP, Troyer, and VMP have.

Thanks for the suggestions,

Again, I'm aware of this. I went into this expecting a reasonable wait. I was told by Bill himself that my tune would be finished roughly 6 weeks ago. I can't seem to get a response from anyone now. I was a small business owner myself and fully understand the challenges involved.

I honestly hate approaching an issue this way but I don't know what else to do. If it's this difficult to get a tune, I can't imagine how I will ever get my money back after 6 months.

I went with php because I heard Bill was one of the very best. I honestly don't have a ton of faith in my local tuners. I'd genuinely just like to get a great tune from php so that I can sing it's praises and erase this thread.

Maybe not yours, but my local tuner is great. His tuning is used in most Mustangs run on the Speed channel.

Mustang tuners struggle with these 3v trucks. I assume that is what the OP has since he has a 2010.

Why is it that every time php is closed(March 21-28) that issues like this pop up?

Just weird.....

Are they really? Thanks for that info. I've literally been waiting for months to ask for help on this topic though. Bizarre timing indeed.

For the record, when I have actually spoken with anyone from php they have been great. I've simply run out of patience with this situation as I can't seem to get any communication from their end since I spoke with Bill around 6 weeks ago.

EDIT: Even though my emails have been going unanswered for the past 6 weeks I will at least give php the chance to return to the office and hopefully address the situation. I've been modding cars for the past 15 years and never had to come to the forums to get a vendor's attention and to be honest it's giving me a nauseous feeling. Hopefully we can resolve this issue when they return at the end of the month and I can see for myself why everyone raves about their tunes.

Man you guys are all lucky! Most people around here don't even know what a tuner is.. I don't have a tuner that could tune my truck within probably 400-500 miles.... That's the problem with these great tuners- troyer, vmp,php..etc- they all get a great reputation then get so swamped they can't keep up.. I just talked to Justin @ VMP yesterday and he is swamped with emails right now he said.. It probably won't be too long and he won't be able to keep up either.. (that's purely my opinion, i'm not being negative about him at all that's just how it goes) To the OP- I hope you can get it straightened out..

To the OP:

Have you ever posted on the PHP forums to try to get this resolved? That gets a lot more attention than posting here.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've posted a question on their chat tech support but haven't hit the forums yet. If posting there might get this dealt with, then that is what I shall do.
