Here is an exclusive sneak peek at Superchips next generation in cabin tuning product the VIVID that’s being shown for the first time at SEMA this week. The VIVID is an android based product that offers a wide variety of apps and options. Look for its release around February of 2011.

All in all looks great!

But....

I have some reservations on certain features and I ask why?

GPS and backup camera......great!

The other features.....hmmmmm.

A programmer is a programmer and it should not be anything more than that........

I'm not trying to step on a sponsers toes here just voicing my opinion that's all.

Peace.....

Basically it opens the door for unlimited customization that only Android can offer. You can customize the product as much or as little as you like. It's all about how you want it done.

We are looking at this as the last programmer you will ever need.

On a side note, I see you are a Harley driver. We just released data on the new HD programmer that is coming out in Feb as well. We will have lots of custom features available for that product that will revolutionize the HD tuning industry. Check it out on our home page for more details.

The HD tuning also sounds great but it probably won't work with what I've got on my bike..........

Kinda limits your future sales doesn't it?

I don't really understand why you'd want or need a tuner to have audio/video capability. Same thing with Gaming, do you really want drivers to be playing games while driving?

It almost looks like you're taking an Android cell phone and adding in tuning features and stuff like the Edge or ScanGaugeII has. My initial reaction is that it seems like the device is trying to do too much at once. Kinda makes me think back to that phrase that goes something like, "You can do one thing perfectly, or a you can do a whole bunch of things poorly."

Regardless, I'lll keep an eye on this once it's released. Any idea on the retail price point?

Superchips, may I ask you a question?

Does/will this product fully support the 09+ F150 TCM, and fully expose all relevant end-user adjustments for these transmissions? ( part-throttle & WOT shift points, shift firmness, TC lock/unlock shedules )?

If so - bravo.

If not, then the criticism I recently levelled at Edge would also apply here: Fancy non-mission-critical apps (mission = all-aspect tuning and control of same), (Maintenance minder, games, audio, etc, etc) should not take precedence over complete, mature core product functionality (see 'mission').

Additionally - did market research contribute towards the feature-set of this product? May I further ask what demographics were used? ( Refer to my iZombie post https://www.f150online.com/forums/4385712-post17.html )

Finally - Does your BT OBDII dongle react in the same fashion as SCT's newest device during a commo interruption?

EDIT - w.r.t. Android: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/security/8...29?tag=nl.e539

Thanks
MGD

Trans tuning for the F-series gas apps is on the board to look deeper into but I can't guarantee it will be ready by the time the product is out. That being said if the feature becomes reality it will be a download to the existing product similar to how our existing products work.

I will forward your request to management when meet for our monthly meeting to discuss current workload.

Basically the design moves us into today's technology where devices get smaller, smarter, and have loads of options.

The device is basically built to allow you the ability to customize it to your liking rather than you having to buy what a manufacture thinks you want.

You can make it as an extreme app machine or a simple programmer that has additional options to add a GPS and phone app for your travelling needs.

Here is some updated info on the product I just received:

For those who already own an android based device Superchips will be offering the “AVID” a Bluetooth Dongle that provides the link between those Android based products and the Superchips VIVID tuning app.

Plans are to release AVID in Summer 2011.

So then where will the stock calibration be stored?.......in the dongle or the phone/device?
Or
Will it be like Harley Davidsons older screaming eagle race tuner tethered dongle and wipe out the stock calibration while writing the new canned/custom tune to the pcm?

The Superchips app will capture the stock settings like our curent product line and then it will send the emissions legal or racing tunes to the vehicle through the dongle.

The dongle will not need to be kept atached to the data port once tuning has finished unless you are planning to use another app requiring it to stay put.

Don't be so sure my friend. This product will offer 2 stages. Bolt on tuning and then complete custom tuning.

We have several bikes in here being tuned right now with all sorts of trick mods. Big Bore kits, polished heads, cams, etc... No problem. Our lead engineer just put a Procharger kit on his bike. It's pretty sick!

Here is a COUPLE pic's of it at Biketoberfest:

And don't forget the ladies:

Stop by the booth at Bikeweek if you are coming down. The product will available and we are even working on installations on the spot.

Anything's possible my friend. Swing by our booth at Bikeweek. More than likely those same girls will be there and possibly willing to listen to your proposition. LOL

Nice pix of the ladies.........

Will your product be compatible with the Zippers Thundermax w/AT tuner?

Dyno charts of bikes with the procharger are quite interesting to view......can you post one up by chance?
