need last advice before ordering
88, I've got another one for you if you have time to answer. As best as you can describe, how much "extra" would one notice b/w a canned tow tune (Level 2) and a custom 87 performance tune. I understand you get the biggest "feel" when upgrading from stock to almost any tune, such as canned Level 2. Is the difference b/w Level 2 and any canned OR custom performance tune significant enough to notice a considerable difference???? This will help me make my mind up if I really "need" a custom performance tune (87 preferred) at this time b/c my mods don't necessarily require it. If the canned tunes will do mostly what I need them to, I may hold off on custom for now, but at the same time....I don't know how much I would be missing out on. Thanks in advance

Thats about what the 87 performance custom tune feels like except the 87 performance custom tune is better yet.
The canned level 2 tune is really great on the low end as far as being really torquy. But the highend lacks a lot what you'd feel with the 87oct perf custom tune.
low end meaning fast acceleration from a stop....high end meaning more power at higher speeds? I'm still learning.
If someone uses the 91+ canned tune, would you have to have driven on higher octane fuel for awhile or it just has to be in the tank? I might play with this one first to get an idea if a custom 87 performance tune is right for me, but I'd also like to be sure that running on 93 isn't bad for the truck if I've always ran 87. Someone once told me that.

Like I stated before.
Yes the low end is from a stop.
Quite typically what you need to get a loaded trailer going.
To switch the octane of the gas you'll need to blend a tank with both octanes use it down to a quarter to a third then fill up with this 91-93oct. Then switch tunes.
Others may say use it the low octane gas down to the low gas light indicator then fill up with the higher octane gas. Then switch tunes.
There are varying opinions on how to do this correctly.
To go back down in octane you can use the high stuff up down to a quarter then fill back up with the lower octane. Then switch tunes.
This is just what I've learned how to change the octane of the gas before switching tunes.

I apologize for the terminology.

I've spent endless hours weeding through all the available info and talking to you guys in order to make a smart purchase decision. With that said, thanks again for all the help.
