VMP > Troyer

Just got my VMP tunes and installed them today.

I like the 91 performance tune I received better in every way compared to troyer's tune. Some of my observations include

It holds its revs a little longer and the torque converter locks up nearly instantly as compared to the troyer tune which you would accelerate at a slower pace the converter was soaking up most of it and your rpms would hang at the same spot creating more heat for the trans.

Under WOT the first gear shifts at 5000-5100 which is way better than troyers 5400. These trucks simply don't make enough power up top to rev it that high. With the VMP shift points you still get to catch a bit of the power band in 2nd. I really like that.

The customer service I got form Justin was just awesome, sent and received many emails in a very timely manner. he also got me his tunes in 5 business days just like his site says (5-10 business days), unlike Troyers "6-8 weeks" which turned into either 12 or 14 weeks I forget the exact amount, but definitely never got the run around with troyer and how long till I recieved my tunes.

Anyone considering VMP I would not hesitate to order from them again. I have now had both VMP and Troyer and would not even consider troyer for another tune any more.

I find it strange that your shift points are 5400, mine shifts earlyer than that. and its hard to comepare tunes unless your going to be in the same weather and drive the same on each tune and allow the PCM to learn the tune... but good write up though.

Peace, OCP and FordRacer! Don't get into a "tizzy" over a non-issue. OPC simply said he thought custom tunes should be better than canned tunes. And, FordRacer, that was YOUR observation!

C'mon, don't "invent" things to fight about. There are much more important things to occupy our time in this world of ours.

I didn't know we were fighting so I'm kind of confused about your post. The big smiley I put in my post sure doesn't seem like I was being hostile...

Has anyone had Justin(VPM) tune their truck after adding a supercharger?

If so how'd it go?

Yeah, I had Justin tweak a lot of my parameters in my SCT tune file for my Roush supercharger. I use the SCT Advantage software. I don't notice any real difference in performance, but my Troyer tune seems to get better mileage. Although, I think winter gasoline mix has a bit more to do with my present mileage on VMPs tune. I know there are additional things I can do on my part, but I'm waiting to install my headers and exhaust before I start data logging and making adjustments.
