I had my troyer tunes for over 2 years and put about 25,000 miles a year on my truck. I know how my truck drives and adaptive learning has set it. Until 2 months ago when I bought my escort you could count the days on one hand that I never drove that truck when it could have been driven in nearly 3 years.

So, has anyone tuned a 2009 or 2010 with VMP? Troyer? Looking for some feedback.

This sounds good. I'm going to cancel my order with Troyer. They have had my money for almost a year and it's almost like they have no intentions of ever sending me my tunes. Had it with that company.
Wish there was a way to make them pay a penalty.

I had Troyer and VMP tunes and my VMP tunes also revved out higher than Troyers did. Troyer's shifts too early IMO.

Can't you adjust those things yourself on X3's?

You gotta be careful - the stock torque converter can't handle very high shift points. 5400 is right at the safe edge with no real headroom.

X2

Also keep in mind that, if you are expecting to see accurate rpm's on the factory tach, forget it. The lag in that instrument will almost guarantee that the truck is shifting even higher than indicated. I don't think even the Edge display is going to be a substitute for actually datalogging the shift points.

1>2 shift - no higher than 5200-5400 ACTUAL - this will allow the rpm drop into second to land right in the meat of the powerband. Subsequent upshifts are set lower for safety.

IF you are seeing 5400 indicated on the tach @ shift - well ... it's Balloon time

Yes. As long as the tuner fellow has unlocked those specific user settings and defined the 'bounds' of adjustability the user is able to manipulate.

This, of course, is to protect the user ( and his truck, lol) from himself, human nature and latent curiosity (coupled with ignorance) being what it is

That's CRAZY! A year?!!! There just simply doesn't seem to be any reason for a customer to have to wait that long for something. Are you sure about the time frame?

If that's true then Troyer will be taken off the list of tuners for my 09 FX4 when I order my handheld/tune
