Troyer ethanol tunes stink!
But you are acting like a child. I deleted his posts and I deleted your posts that had abusive language. It has absolutely nothing to do with senior or no senior membership. Keep up the attitude and you will receive a suspension. When you come on a site lambasting a paying sponsor in the manner you did, you can expect to get some reaction from his camp. I'm sure you expected it. I was very close to deleteing your thread at the start because of the attitude exhibited.

I got your email and responded a few nights ago, good to hear you got the issue resolved with your original tuner.
In all my years of tuning, first working for SCT when they were created in 2003, and then being one of their largest dealers for the past 4 years, I have never had someone kill all the power in their house just to load a tune. Not to say that computer glitches don't happen, just that I have never had to go to that extent.
As to some of the other comments made, a dyno-tune is always going to be better than a mail order tune. I have dynotuned roush blown trucks previously mail order tuned by other tuners, and their were gains to be made, but such is the nature of a hands on tune vs a mail order tune. I am not going to sit on the net like some others and bash someones tunes because they could not be right there sitting in the vehicle.

I would guess it is E10 tunes since E85 is hard to find out west. I have only seen one gas station with E85 and it was in southwest Washington and I live in northwest Oregon.
I have never had a problem with Troyer Performance and customer service. Troyer was very helpful when I had a no-start issue with new tunes.

SIGH...everyone here is just crazy...the tunes on VMP's site were $250 and all Mustang tunes. I saw no F150 tunes but I admit I only browsed a bit, saw the price, and clicked away. No offense to Justin or VMP or Troyer. When you spend this much on a product and it doesn't work, it can make anyone crazy and with a cross country road trip imminent and no reply from Troyer for 2 months...I'm crazy too!
What are you talking about? I was just asking about numbers that I have never seen anywhere on VMP's site. That is all, I am from no camp or whatever schizo issue you are having. So, have a
and take it easy dude.

Not meant for you. Meant for Bluejay. He's threatening to suspend me for my frustrating posts. I only saw the big dollar tunes on the site but like I said I left the site right after that. I've already spent too much and even $59, although that IS cheap, is still too much in my situation. Here is what I saw:

That's the link Justin sent me in an email when I inquired about his tunes. Mike charged me $110 for the 3 ethanol tunes. He cut me a small deal as I also bought 3 K&N oil filters and a set of kickass one-piece plugs eliminating the other issue I had with a #4 misfire. I highly recommend the plugs but I forget the name. I'm sure thry're on his site though.
I'm going to cut you slack one more time. Troyer is an advertiser/sponser, not a paying member. We do not have paying members. If you will notice, the other flamers ceased, or they would be getting the same message you are. There is no bias. Now, you need to cease with the fingerpointing and complaining and try to have a positive experience on the site.

Hey Dark, can you go to the page with the cheap tunes and post the link. I can't find them but I've been up for 20 hours and the 2 beers are taking their toll on my rolling-back-in-my-head-eyeballs!
In case you're still interested, Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) is similar to Checksum verification, only better. A "code" is created based on the original contents of the file and is stored with the file. Then, when the file is accessed, the code is recreated based on the current file's contents and compared with the original code. If there's any difference, the file is assumed to be corrupted and is generally considered unusable. It's theoretically possible for the original code and the code produced by a corrupted file to match, but it is extremely unlikely. Checksum is similar, but the likelihood of matching results on corrupted files is somewhat higher due to the process involved.
Since a corrupted tuning file COULD lead to engine damage, I'd like to know it's valid. I wonder if any of the programmers we talk about in these forums have any checks on the validity of the files that are uploaded?
Rather than build the validation into the hardware device, I'd expect it to be in a software loading application. Does the XCal use a software application to upload new tunes?
