gryphon frirst impressions :)
wow, what a difference even on level one....
The truck moves when you hit the gas, no lag, shifts much sooner when you gas it, and overall is a much better truck to drive.
it was snowing and roads were covered so no WOT today, but even while driving conservatively, it was awesome...
VERY easy install... however getting the side of the dash off was difficult... supposed to just pull it out? (hope so. cause i forced it out)
and the velcro was not stated in the directions on where to place it... i have a very good feeling that it will not move without it though, such a tight, secure, proper fit on that pod.... very nice work guys...
i changed the colors and gauges... still playing with what gauges i want though... MPG instant and average are a must though...
once i calm down on the skinny pedal, im sure it will be MUCH better.. but im still on level one... i plan on doing 1 week on L1 and do MPG, then 1 week on L2 and do the MPG calc, and see which is better for me...
L3 might happen, not sure i want to buy more expensive gas and find out my truck runs a lot better and be stuck paying a lot more when prices rise back up... so i'll keep myself uninformed for my own good on that one..
VERY happy customer!
P.S. the mints were a nice touch.... and are you missing two legos from your kids collection? they were in my box
a couple calenders, sticker, and business cards... all in a double boxed package... very well done guys...

Don't go to Level 3!
I did and it's been on ever since. While waiting for the tunes I had it L1 which was huge compared to stock. Then moved to L3 and I can't believe I didn't get a ticket.
Once the tunes came in I gave each level a shot. Not too fond of the 87 economy but it stays on 91 performance.
The average and instant readouts are both fun and depressing. It's amazing to see how one's driving habits effect the mileage.

yea, i will do that... i was just throwing numbers there... the higher performance tune wont do much if i am creeping along at 20 mph in a halffoot of snow any way....
when the roads clear up i'll do proper mpg testing and get fair results... till then.. im gonna have some fun with my "new" truck

The Legos were supposed to be in there, Silly... like, a bonus. We do that for all of our customers Ah, one of the pleasures of working from home is that we are always with the boys, 7 and 9. Our youngest, however, has a terrible habit of coming into the office and leaving behind whatever's in his hands (you should see my desk). I think I had let him fold the customers' white boxes the day your Gryphon was shipped. What a hoot! We shipped 13 programmers that day -- can you imagine what might be in the other boxes?
Now that I think about, I'm pretty sure one of our cats is missing...
I'm glad you like all the goodies. I always wonder if people even care or really notice. I only recently started putting in the mints because I thought to myself What a nice treat it would be to open a package and find candy! Even if you're having a bad day, you'd have to smile.

I tossed the velcro. Same thing for a small aluminum bracket that came with the pod. Nothing in my pod moves either and neither does the pod.
You might want to verify that your gear ratio and tire sizes are correct, since you are "Power programming". Just reselect the Level 1 program in the setup menu again and this time choose the create custom settings option. Right after you do this, scroll to the "Load Previous Settings" option and press Enter. Then go to the Gear Ratio and the Tire Settings options and make sure they are correct or reset them as necessary.
One of the easiest ways to get a near-correct tire size is to use the Gear Ratio Calculator that is part of Pegasus. Enter your tire size like this: "275/65-18" (my tires) and you'll immediately see your tire circumference in millimeters calculated with a 5% "squish". You can change the squish if the displayed speed and odometer readings are not correct. On the calculator, I find that 7% squish works for me (7% change in "rubber" distance from the rim to the road), or, I can simply subtract 3% of the 0% squish circumference to get the same effect. (A 7% rubber squish corresponds closely to a 3% overall radius reduction).
Scroll to "Done" and hit Enter and then let the PCM reprogram.

Maybe next Christmas we'll send a couple
in each box.
Glad all everything is working well.
Have a safe and happy holiday.
Merry Christmas to you, Corey and the boys, Bill!
