The pm i sent to groovy chick was sent because i knew you were having problems. In the pm i mentioned that i was not trying to pester you as i know your busy, but that i was just making sure my email got through as it had been a month.

O i was perfectly happy on the file you made me, infact i want a tow tune aswell. I drive it on the canned extreme just because the shifting is similar to what you had made me on the street tune. My only concern with the tune is that i dont have it anymore. I would also get a tune/gryphon from you for my lightning if i didnt already have a predator and had spent money on a dyno tune for it.

I actually tried to call but you won't accept blocked phone numbers(my home phone works throught the internet). I'd try calling from work but im not so sure they would like me calling down to the U.S. I'm also only generally home on weekends and i hate bugging people on the weekends, thus i mostly stick to email when possible.

I can send you another email if you like, incase its not there. Plus like i said i would like to get a tow tune from you or atleast let me know what improvments can be made. Just wondering if vgt control could lower some egt's etc.

Thank you.
I apologize. I am sure she must have given me the message but if you saw the condition of my desk right now, you'd be astounded. I'm lucky to find my keyboard. Ha Ha Ha. Okay, maybe it's not THAT bad, but at any given time I have my desktop computer and monitors, 2 laptops, 2-3 test PCMs, maybe a 6.0L FICM, a monster regulated power supply, soldering iron (and assorted junk for that), and of course some speakers to ease the brain. That combined with my stack of orders and my callback notes makes for a busy desk and from time to time a note might get misplaced.

Anyway, if I didn't get back to you it's surely my fault. Please resend so I can figure out what the issue is and get it fixed for you.

Take care and have a great weekend.

I agree with you 100%. Trend information is what is going to tell you if there is a problem.

As for accuracy, I have no reason to dispute the accuracy of the readings from any diagnostic tool or MFP (Multi-Function Programmer) as I feel the data coming from the PCM is quite accurate and reliable. I'm sure it's a heckuva lot more accurate than the old mechanical coolant temp and oil pressure gauges we used to run in our muscle cars 25 years ago.

I do agree about the lack of a valid ECT value, as an inferred value based off CHT is relatively pointless. However, I think I'd rather have CHT versus ECT since the ECT sensor will generally diminish in accuracy as it ages due to contamination from the cooling system or even change depending on what type of coolant you are running. This is what makes inferred ECT pointless as well. Variations in heat transfer between then metal and the coolant can vary with age, coolant type and coolant dilution.

Anyway, find what's normal for you truck and use that as your guide. And for heaven's sake, don't count on the dash gauges. By the time they show you something is wrong, it's probably too late.

So - i bought the edge a week or so ago, and so far I dig it. I wasn't looking to increase my 0-60, just wanted better MPG and some more power. I am also going to be installing the Magnaflow 16614 dual exhaust this weekend. My question though is about the Edge. I have been reading a lot of these posts and everyone says to "Send it to Bill..." It sounds like he can custom tune it? I guess I am just really asking what he would do to it?

Thanks!!

For a small fee, he will convert it to the Gryphon which is the same hardware as the Edge, but he is not allowed to retune an Edge. He can then write custom programs you want including parameters for any mods you might have. I have his 87 Performance and 93 Performance tunes and they are great.

No, once you have his Gryphon, he can program it for any changes by email. Also, there are not many mods that you will do that will require reprogramming. An aftermarket intake and a supercharger are all I can think of right off.
