Thinking about an edge

i know the edge comes with 3 tunes already on it. i was wondering if bills custom tunes really make that big of a differance on them. also , i dont do any towing with my truck but the #2 setting is for towing. which tune would be the best for me to run in?

I have run the Edge canned program level 3 most of my 34,000 miles since purchasing it. It gives best overall performance and about 11% better mpg, so it paid for the difference in the cost between 87 and 93. Just got custom tunes. read the thread.

lvl 2 is great for more than just towing. Better shift points, shift firmness, and it feels like its got some low end power. I have used lvl 2 for about 22,000m and have never had a reason to try lvl 3.

Levle 2 is fine for around town, but on freeways or the highway, it fades at about 2000 rpms, where you really need some power for passing. Plus, if you haven't tried level 3, I found the shifting much more to my liking in level 3, especially the downshifting. The firmness can be controlled by the pressure in either one. I prefer very quick, hard shifts, so have run +12 in both level 2 and level 3. Bill set them pretty firm in my custom tunes, so I didn't add any.
