I am posting this in the tuning forum as this is the only forum I ever frequent...

I will not be available for a few days (maybe more) to answer any questions.

My son Chris, who lives in San Diego, has been missing for the last five days. His CO at Pendleton called to inform us that he has been missing since Tuesday night and while they are confident that this is probably a PTSD related disappearance (he just served 9 months in Iraq) they are now concerned by the length of time he has been AWOL.

His name is Chris Cohron. He's 21 and is in the Marines. He has a "Semper Fi" tattoo on his right forearm and this is a recent picture of him...

If anyone in the San Diego area sees him, please contact the Oceanside Police Dept. at 760-435-4900.

If it's not too much of an imposition, I would also ask that everyone pray that he turns up safe and sound.

I am a Marine Veteran who experienced a similar situation with one of my squad members. My suggestion would be that you directly contact his closest friends yourself. Marines are extremely loyal to one another. If one of his friends knows where he is or he has contacted them, it is likely that they are not telling the command out of loyalty to him. As his father, you will more likely be able to get a straight answer from them. If he has been in contact with them or they know where he is then you are the best person to get that info. BTW, as another option, inquire with the mp's or NIS as to whether they can get authorization to look at any financial transactions that have taken place on his credit cards or bank accounts. This would be a way of finding out what are he is in.
