Then again I ran 93 right off the bat. Never had the Edge but ThumperMX113 had a good dyno comparison of his Edge vs his VMP dyno tunes and low and midrange was the biggest weakness of the Edge (I should say advantage of the custom tune). My Troyer dyno looked much the same with fat numbers below the curve so I am suprised to hear that. Hopefully it impresses you more with 93 or maybe cycles so you felt like it was money well spent. Are you running the same intake?
93 tune and 87 are going to be day and night. The 93 tune on the Edge really comes to life at the top end while the 87 is better suited for low and mid range. This morning I put on 80 miles and notice a few things on the highway. Better performance, off the line and a few times I went to pass someone the tranny kicked down a gear and took off. I love that. still wish there was better performance in the mid range. Also on the highway this tune loves 80 mph. What im noticing is that the 87 tune is getting better through the whole rpm range were the Edge fell off at the top.

When I had my Edge I ran level 3 all the time. The only time I switched to 2 when was I was going to tow something.

Now that I have my Troyer I run 93 performance tune all the time. Again, only will switch when I want to tow. I only ordered 93 tunes on the Xcal as I don't plan on running anything less than 93 again.

I wasn't as impressed with the 92 tune as I was when I first installed the 87 tune. Maybe something to do with installing the new gears at the same time or simply I have just gotten used to the custom tuning so I don't experience that "wow" factor that I did initially.
Thats what im saying, I had a tune already so the wow factory isnt there. If I never had another tune to compare it to it would be a different story. Its nice to be out of my stock tune.

I just topped off my tank also, so I will see how the fuel mileage turns out. Im sure I will try the 93 tune soon but at almost $4.00 a gallon I dont think I will be using it exclusively. Also did notice the exhaust was a little louder which was nice because I think the si/so maggie is to quiet.

good point made- honestly i would sleep better at night knowing that since your truck wasn't on a dyno to read exact air-fuel #'s[i think?]with your edge tune-you 'll be making "safe" maximum hp and tq for your truck with tp's tunes- i can tell ya this -especially my bottom and mid and part throttle tq is much better with my 93 tune vs the 87 tune i went back to-i thought $3:15 was bad for 87-$3:39- keep us posted-phil

I will I have a long weekend and will put about 300 miles total Sat and Sun. Im definitly not running lean compared to the Edge. I also have a full tank of Hess fuel so when it runs down I will fill with Sunoco and compare the two.

ouch and I thought I had it bad with high gas prices! Untill last week I was getting 93 for around $3.00. Now its running me $3.33. Its not that bad since I mainly drive it on the weekends so it lasts me a while.

I just had a custom tune done on my edge. At first I was skeptical because it didnt seem aggressive on the shift points. However just because it doesnt hit hard doesnt mean its not really getting up to speed really fast!! I mean I was doing about 20mph and just stepped on it and was hitting 90mph just like that! I was like damn it was so much smoother shifting you cant tell your going that fast and the truck really moves.

So I think or hoping Hector your Troyer tune will do the same. I think your like me missing the hard shift points making it feel it has that much more power. When it has the same power if not more just shifting smoother with the custom tune and probably better on the transmission.

The good thing is I can always go by to my regular Edge tune If i want to or switch back and forth by changing levels or compare the changes. Plus add the Edge user setting to the custom tune! Its only been 2 days so need to run it a few more weeks before a full review so keeping my fingers crossed.

Hope all this made since and keep us updated 05supercrew!! Good Luck!!!.

Im already seeing the changes, I have yet to put the peddel to the floor so I maybe surprised. Most of the time I have my kids in the truck so im not concerned with top end. I cant wait to get away from this winter fuel.

I have a feeling we will see some great things come from Bills tunes.

I need to change a lot of things I said,This tune is sweet. I was driving my truck like I was breaking it in. Mid rang is a lot better then stated before. I also never mentioned the Troyer tune and the S&B is exellent, no drone at 1800 rpm and you can here the intake and the exhaust together and it sounds good. Throttle response is exellent. Have to watch speed because I came up on traffic pretty quick with out realising my speed. Less effort on the throttle to move the truck.
As for the Edge I wont put it down, for a canned tune the unit is exellent. When I bought it I had no plans on modding my truck but things changed. The guages are great and still after 9 weeks still very muched are missed. It sucks that I had a lean condition and that dreaded drone from the S&B. I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of good things come from the Edge and a Bill tune.
