So let me ask this again...and yes I am seriously asking this because I dont know. I can bring it in to any Ford dealership and they will do warranty work on it no questions asked even though i didnt purchase the truck from them? Because I guy on here mentioned something about a different dealer trying to sell him an Edge so obviously they dont mind tunes...I might have to hook up with them.
You can go to any dealer in North America to have your truck serviced. we have two dealers in town. Liked the purchase price at one place but didn't like the service at the other sooooo...... I got it at one dealer and I had it serviced at the dealer that I liked for service. Mostly warranty work.

Yep, your Ford warranty is a Ford warranty.. nothing to do with the dealer.. after all, what if ya break down a thousand miles from home? Ya aint gonna have it towed back, the local Ford dealer is gonna fix it..

A couple things... just to clarify i.ride.suzuki...

Pin 13 is the programming enable pin for the PCM. With that removed, the PCM cannot be reprogrammed, by the dealer OR by the programmer of choice. You will have to reconnect it to change programs or return to stock. However, it is a good way to prevent the dealer from botching up your tuning.

The BOX code (the 4 letter thingy) is applicable ONLY to the calibration that was originally installed in the PCM. If the PCM has been reflashed, the BOX code is useless as it no longer applies to the calibration in the PCM. Always refer to the HEX code (basically it is the filename of calibration in the PCM) when doing any tuning or you might end up with a nasty surprise.

As for reflashes and tuners, things vary from tuner to tuner depending on the programming algorithms and how the PCM "lock" is identified by the tuner. In some cases, it is possible to have the tuner restore your stock, pre-flash program. In most cases, it's not. The problem revolves mostly around custom tuning and the fact that quite often the tuning will be rendered useless after a reflash.

Hope this helps.

Bill

Good to be back. Being away form home SUX! Glad to hear things are working well for you. Nothing like snappy throttle response to make your truck feel brand new!

Take care.
