I guess I didn't ask enough questions. Combination tunes would be exactly what I was looking for. I had such a hard time decided on 3. I know everyone has a bias, and figured no one had compared customs, but It was just in my mind.

Jditta, just check out his dyno chart if he doesn't chime in.

Hitched,

I think combination tunes are too much of a compromise and would not get them again myself. How do you use your truck? I have found that a 93 Max Tow tune is a great all around tune and I don't want to reflash all the time when towing. It has near the raw power of the 93 Max with slightly softer shifts but still a ton of low and mid power which makes these 6,000 pigs so nice to drive just normally and then still a strong high end pull if you're feeling frisky. An 87 tune of some sort is a good idea just to have in the back pocket in case no 93 is available. If I was doing it again I'd go 87 and 93 Max Tow and then a 93 Max Performance.

Oh wait I am doing it again........be on Mike's dyno two weeks from today haha!!!!

I have to be honest with y'all. Depending upon how extreme the changes to your effective gearing are, you may want to budget for gears. Torque improvements from custom tuning are significant, but at a certain point, gearing will be highly desireable. Refer to Kevin24's posts - he's in the same situation.
Yup you really need some gears!! It was a pretty big slap in the face when i put 35's on my truck. It sounds like you are in the same situation as me but the tunes will be a big help In the future if you want more power then re-gear.

Tow is probably the way I should have gone. I'm young and just got married, so MPG's is the number one need, but I like my truck to be there when I don't want someone to pass me.
