only problem I have is the WOT fuel ratio... I have it set to 1.60 and I still get some detonation. Makes me pretty worried. I am thinking of going troyer and keeping the edge for the gauges.

I bought mine during the group buy for members here and used it on my 04 F150 until I traded it. Now it is on my 06 F150 and I haven't had any problems at all. I run level 2 with no customization.

I've had my EDGE for about 5 months and in that time, I have adjusted the settings many times. I have not experienced a single problem and have been totally happy and satisfied with the results.

I think one thing is clear by reading this thread: tuning is both fun and necessary with these trucks. But please keep in mind that comparing "custom" vs. "canned" tuning is like comparing apples to oranges and expectations need to be set accordingly.

Having said that, I love the plug-n-play aspect of the EDGE and love the added giddyup it added even more. There may be a need for custom tune down the road but for now, the EDGE gives me what I want.

good luck!

I think that problems occur when the user has not read and does not fully understand what they are doing when they "custom" tune their settings. I also think that some of the problems occurred due to the constant "updating" of their edge on the internet. Now I understand if the product is going to have an update that it should work and with little problems, but I have noticed that those who have never updated their programmers via the internet, USUALLY never have problems. I have had my EDGE for about a year now and have never had ONE single issue with it nor have I EVER updated it. I play with the customization all the time and still have ZERO problems. Just make sure you understand exactly what you're dong when you adjust your settings and everything will be fine.

The only "problem" I have with my Edge is that sometime the screen turns off after I dim the brightness while driving. I just unplug it and plug it back in and it works fine, no big deal.

I'm really satisfied with my purchase of my Edge; it's so much of an improvement over stock. I keep it on the towing level with a bit of customization.

I've had my edge for a year and haven't looked back. Dollar for dollar the best thing I've done for my truck. Running level 2 with custom tire size setting and bumped speed limiter. It was worth the price just for the throttle response improvement alone.

I never updated mine either but after running a cat back and intake I notice my exhaust was running really hot so I knew I was running lean. I updated the Edge and the exhaust cool down alot but still got a little hot. I called Edge and they said there canned tune is only for stock trucks and they tune so many trucks that they werent going to release a tune for intakes and cat backs. I sold it to get a custom tune. When I updated the Edge it ran a lot smoother and better.

Just how much is there to reading and understanding the instructions? It's not rocket science.

When a person makes one single change to the custom settings and then the truck wont run, It's not the persons fault.

I have been talking to Bill Cohorn (The edge programer) for a week now, and even he is baffled by the problems people are having with it. I believe it's either a bad batch of tuners, or the trucks HEX code causing these issues.

Lots of people are happy and having no problems with the edge, but a good handfull seem to be having bad problems including myself.

Mine does not work in custom settings.
Desktop computer doesnt reconize the model when plugged in.
Level 3 skips beat while driving.
It won't read the recordings I do on the computer.
Edge support hasnt called me back in over a week now and didnt give any direction when I spoke with them either.

And yes I am looking to send it back this week and go with Xcal or something better.

The Hex code is not the problem. Edge not supporting the Hex code IS the problem. Edge tech sucks, I can figure out more on my own then with those strokes!

I ordered one a while back and of course my luck was that it didn't work in my truck dang edge unit didn't even turn on, and yes I read the instructions a few times trying to figure it out. I don't know if it was the edge or the port in my truck. Anyways I didn't mess around with it and just sent it back because the money I was supposed to get to pay for it didn't come through, some kid that I was selling my 305 tires to wanted a refund because his parents were going to kick him out for buying them. Back on topic though, I don't doubt the edge has it's good moments, but lately it seems like there have been a hell of a lot of edge doesn't work threads. Also know a kid running one on his 7.3l powerstroke that had it quit working on him.

EZ - Don't give up. Bill is looking at my bin files. These files were extracted while it was custom-tuned and all screwed up, so hopefully he'll be able to identify the problem. I'll post in your thread as soon as I know anything.

I just spent 2 hours trying to send them an RMA. There web site keeps giving me SQL errors. I thought to my self,,, "self, they can't even run a web page. What makes you think there going to fix your edge"
No I don't make it a habit of talking to myself like that, but at least I didn't answer myself. (Or did I? hmm,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,)

Anyhow, Yea they suck! Bin sucking for 2 weeks now for me. Not the good kind either. oops

Well thanks ya a lot, at least somebody is getting back to me
Do you plan on going up there and applying for a job as a tech support guy?
If so give me your phone number when you get there so we can all get help.

On another note, Bill didn't ask me for a file, wish he had. I will be impatiently waiting
Did he give you a time frame?
