Exclamation !!!edge Problems Being Fixed!!!!

Look man,
For those of you who don't know him, Bill Cohorn is the original programer for the edge tuner. If you look hard enough you will see post from him personally thru out the forums.
Bad news is, he don't work for edge anymore, however thru a lot of researching and reading and calling I have found him and just spoke with him regarding my problems with the edge unit. (Friday 4pm 28th of sept 07)

And might I add I mentioned all of us here at F_150online also that are having the same problems.

As other people are having the same issues here,, thats why I am posting this as I have also spoke with Edge today and they got me NOWHERE!
(basically blew me off)
Edge rep said that the reason the custom program don't work is because your giving the computer a set parameter and it's going to try and do what you want it to do. Such as changing the timing, if you want 3 deg it sets it at 3 deg only.
((Edge rep then told me that there was nothing he could do about it))

Bill said this is wrong, The computer has a global timing positioner (if you will) and it reads all kinds of information from the trucks sensors and then adds your 3 degrees on top of what it normally would do.
So,, when your monitoring your spark advance and it says 24 deg, the global positioner will tell it to run 27 deg due to your request.

Apparently this is'nt working on the edg for some of us.
All this was explained to me by Bill himself.
Now to list the problems so that we all know who we are.
1) Level 3 skipping around 50mph cruising
2) Custom programs don't work at all and cause the motor to freak out.
3) Data logging don't work on the computer or doesnt even reconize the unit when pluged into your desktop.

ok, 1 + 2 being the most important I guess. I told Bill in detail what the problems are were having and he is going to look at it over the weekend and give me a call back as soon as he's on to something. (which could be next week)

Even though he does not work for edge anymore he stated that since he still programs thru other vendors he feels somewhat obligated to help out.
He was very kind about it and answered some of my other questions about the programer as well.

He even went so far as to give me his phone number, said that if I have any other questions or problems I could give him a call back. He will be contacting me next week hopefully with some good answers.

Until then we wait
