The dreaded CEL light
Banks 1&2 Stuck Rich?
So the story begins with my ex needing to borrow the truck for a few hours today. Of course my parting words were "Don't hurt her...". Well, she called me this afternoon at about quarter after 2 tellin me that the CEL light had come on. (Mind you she was petrified at this point....she thought she broke my truck). So on the phone, I had her use my XCal2 that was still in the truck to pull the codes. P2196 & P2198. Called Troyer Performance right off the bat, let them know what was going on with the truck and to get their input on the issue. Banks 1 & 2 O2 sensors stuck rich. When I got to the truck after work, I cranked her up and went to the tail pipes....and sure enough, had a strong odor of unburnt gas. Reloaded the 93 Performance Tune, no help. So I cleared the DTC's, switched it over to my 93 Towing tune.....no more raw gas smell from the exhaust. Got about 20 miles and 2 drive cycles out of it so far and no more CEL light. Crystal is gonna get with Mike when they get a free moment and get back with me if they can figure anything out about that paticular tune.
Has anyone else run into this problem with their tuning, and if so, what wound up being the root problem?
