I dont knock any of the tuners and honesty I'd love to give the Xcal a try. However I have an EGDE and love it. Theres no way I could wait 6-10 weeks for tuner not having one at all. I've actually thought about ordering the Xcal sine I have the EDGE but not sure if it would be worth the trouble of upgrading and may not see much of a differance since I now have the EDGE compared to someone with NO tuner.

Also when you sell and EDGE you can get a good price back on them and the next user can install it with no problems. With the Xcal and correct me if Im wrong you have to send it back to Troyer when you sell it to have it reprogramed for the next persons truck before it can be used and cost a pretty penny plus waiting.

There is a reson why people wait for Troyer tunes they have over 15 years of experience, and it does come down to: you get what you pay for. I would wait longer if I had to.... the tunes there that good.

I am sure the tunes are really good and the wait is worth it. Troyer should just be letting people know the actual wait time and not tell them 6 to 8 weeks if they know it will be longer than that. Like someone said earlier, tell them a longer wait time then try to beat it. In the end you will have a way happier customer. Customers do not like to be lied to and mislead.

One of the reasons I chose Troyer is that he would post online and answer questions. I don't see him doing that any longer. I even wonder if he is aware that he has upset customers posting on here? Even a weekly update to post where he is at so his customers know where their order stands would sure be appreciated.

As long as you return your vehicle back to stock before you sell it, the new tunes can be emailed to the new owner from the tuner of his choice. If the device is VIN locked it will need to be returned.

I had the Edge and now I'm running a VMP tuned Xcal2. I can honestly tell you its a night and day difference. The power is a lot greater, the driveability is leaps and bounds ahead of the Edge not to mention I've still got my Edge to monitor temps etc.

Dont take this the wrog way but I find it really hard to find it a night and day differance between the Xcal2 and Edge. The only reason I say that is because theres SUCH a BIG differance between the EDGE and stock its unreal!!

ThumperMX113 you can use your EDGE for the gauges with the Xcal2? I really wish I knew someone here locally that had the Xcal2 to take a drive in to compare the two. It has me so curious I make buy one and try it. I dont mind the wait since I have the EDGE and happy with the power. However its killing me wanting to try the Xcal2 for kicks and compare! Also can I run my K&K CAI with the Xcal2 if I dont want to by buy the AF-1?

Thanks for the post can you tell me whats the chances a VIN would be locked? I guess I dont understand that part and how it gets locked? I thought the tunes was setup per person and by the VIN# they have on there truck only.

I'd buy the Xcal2 for the huge benefit of the excellent driveability over the Edge. There is a ton more power down in the low-middle RPMs. Yes, I loaded the Edge back to stock. Installed my tune. Just plugged in the Edge and I've got gauges. I don't have a AF1, I'm running the S&B CAI. Call Justin at www.VMPTuning.com and he'll explain more into detail if you have any questions. He'll be able to get you a tune out in about 2-3 weeks too.

I'm pretty sure Mike knows he has some upset customers. I know for a fact that the people at T.P. pay attention to this forum. Not sure why Mike hasn't posted here in a while. Last time I can recall was about 7 weeks ago when he responded to a thread I posted while waiting for my tuner.

You will love the difference. I didn't even get a CAI, just the tunes and performance is much better

I was charged for the tunes in July. Luke
That sucks that they told you 6 weeks, but I waited 3 months for my TP tune (although they told me it would take that long). Regardless, the wait is worth it and IMO, it would be foolish to back out now when you're so close.

Oh, and I wasn't charged until my tune was shipped. Interesting.
