Troyer Performance Buyer Beware

I would like to inform all of my experience with Troyer Performance. I placed my order in the beginning of July and was told in six weeks I would have my tunes. As of today September 21 I still do not have them. I called on September 18 and asked for my money back, then after a call back I was told by a woman with the last name of Troyer That I would have my tunes by the end of the week. More lies by Troyer Performance because I don't have them. I know there is a lot of satisfied customers on this forum and that's why I purchased from them. But I am not at all satisfied. Maybe I can get my money back on Monday. Buyer Beware they will lie to get your money.
I was charged for the tunes in July. Luke

Sorry to hear that Dude but six weeks from sometime in July is like right about now give or take. The guy does good tunes and as a result he is popular. Maybe they shouldnt have promised you by a certain date but its not like your order is major late. If you buy from him you gonna have to wait that is all there is to it. If you do get money back and start from scratch then your waiting all over again.

Yikes, I'm not going to say too much about this since it's such a touchy subject with some of our members. I hope everything gets straightened out. I also wouldn't be surprised to see this thread "disappear". Once again, good luck man!

Dude what calendar are you using? 6 weeks from the start of July is mid August... We're almost in the last week of September now...

I have a whole heap of conflicting e-mails in my inbox that say 6,7 & 8 week delivery. Im looking at 12 weeks for my tunes to be done (Plus another 2 weeks shipping - but Im in New Zealand so that part is acceptable).

I build race-cars and we have a little motto: "If it takes 2 days to put a screw in straight then it takes 2 days."

I have said before, Troyer could do alot more business (IMO) if they found a way to iron out this crinkle (however i know JS about what is involved with custom tuning).

Im working on the assumption that I will be happy in the end and even if they had said 12 week wait when I placed my order, I would still have placed my order with them.

BRENT

Normally they don't. I had to pay for mine early because thy had to send me my tuner (empty) to do a strategy on my pcm. Finally got my tunes week and a 1/2 ago. Officially, it tooks 9 weeks from time I faxed my worksheets to them! Btw, tunes are great!!

I understand they are busy but Troyer still has a business to run. He should either start to train somebody to help him with the backlog of orders or he should tell the people ordering that he is 3 months behind. When I placed my order in July Crystal told me they were 6 weeks behind. I was fine with that wait time. But now I hear that wait times are way longer than that. I feel that I have been lied to just to get my business. Not very good business practice in my opinion. From I hear Troyer Custom tunes are they best. After the long wait time I sure hope they are. I am on week 9 and going into week 10 next week in the waiting game.

I am still in the midst of finalizing my tunes. I am running on baseline tunes as I upgraded my MAF sensor. I got some dyno data into their system for review. I agree with the idea of Mike bringing in someone new to open up the bottleneck. He has a big biz there, and they are feeling growing pains, and need to grow to relieve the pain. As more and more get into F-series trucks and go to TP for tunes, the worse it is gonna get before it gets better unless TP adds some tuning staff. Oh ya, sent my sheets in on May 1st. As the gent from NZ said, if it takes that long then it takes that long.

There are 2 sides to every story and the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.

The 6 weeks begin when all the information on your worksheet is complete and in their hands not on the day of order.
I agree that the length of time Mike takes is his biggest problem. People don't like to wait when they are spending their hard earned money. To be fair though the long wait is well publicized. If you don't want to wait go with VMP or someone else. Troyer is the best and worth the wait but I can understand the complaint.

When i placed my order i was told it would be 6 weeks but i knew it would be longer.Ya the wait sucks but it is worth it!!I do agree that if he knows it's gonna take 10 weeks then to say it in the begining. As far as them wanting to steal your money i don't agree at all They don't charge you until it's shipped or you need the programmer fo a strategy read!

When my truck needs another tune next spring i will be having Troyer do my next set of tunes again no matter how long it takes him
The wait is worth it IMO

This an easy one...

Why not tell customers it's a 10 week wait and when they get their tunes in 6-9 weeks they think, "Wow, Troyer is really putting in some OT to get these tunes out."

Hey, it worked for me all the time in the restaurant biz.

One less customer to go through before he does my tune!

But seriously, if you feel like you've been cheated, then it's your right to get your money back.
