Edge V Troyer.

Anybody out there got any dyno results of the edge evo versus the troyer ecal II? Im curious as to how much of a difference there is in performance from one tuner to the other. Or does the troyer really kick the edges ***? Or is there really only a small amount of improvement from the edge to the ecal II.
Just wondering guys. Hope somebody can post some results, to see who has bragging rights as to the best tuner. Other than just saying mine is better because it was custom tuned etc!

Thanks.

i think there have been several threads with the same kind of question and in short I think the overall apeal was that the troyer custom tune is better because he has many years of experience and each tune he makes is custom taylord to your truck, not a canned tune like edge. Plus he has access to more parameters than the edge lets you mess with. The Edge is good, Troyer is better.
Also, try searching it. its your friend

I have an edge and wish I had troyer custom tuning. I'm not the only one that feels this way.

I recall that someone dynoed with the Edge and it added about 25 HP where the custom tune adds about 35 HP. If pure performance is what you want or if you want a custome tune to go with other performance mods, then the custom is the way to go. If you want the guages and are satisfied with a much improved performing truck, then the Edge is the one. I have had the Edge for over a year and I'm quite satisfied with it.

I have the edge and love it but keep in mind not everyone that gets a custom tune is looking out for total performance. A lot of people get tunes for towing and other applications.

Yeah, but your the guy that puts a cow catcher on, then takes it off, can't decide what tail lights he wants and won't paint his spokes black!

Oh, almost forgot, raises his truck, then lowers it!

Im going to get the edge. I dont give a rats *** if my truck cant do a 1/4 mile in 6.5 - 7.5 sec. Its a truck. If i wanted that kind of performance i would have bought a sports car!
The extra horse power and firmer shifts will be great.
But im sure like everybody else who gets extra power they want more! Muuuuuhhhaaa. And i will be the same.
But i think what the edge has to offer is what im looking for right now.

Thanks for replying guys.

If you are wanting something to make your truck more peppy and fun to drive and not looking for optimum performance, I think that is the right choice. Plus, you don't have to wait on it for 4 to 6 weeks. I really like the gauges, I monitor engine temp, oil temp, transmission temp and digital mph at a glance. I like that.

IMO it seems like Troyer is best for heavily modded trucks. Edge is for a couple bolt ons (the majority of us) plus the geek factor of additional gauging. Of course you will get way more performance out of a TT but it stays with the truck. The Edge can be removed *IF* you go through trucks like leasing.

I do get better MPGs with the edge as well.

x2. love th performance gains of the edge but the unsure shifts and highway droning are beyond annoying.

I have the edge level 3 transmission shudder still. So instead of 3 tunes I only have 2. Edge won't fix their tuning. Lots of us have the issue.
