I do have a question for you guys. I hear mentioning of going to different vendors (VMP / BAMACHIPS) and trying different tunes. Are you guys just contacting these tuners and repeating the same proccess (WORK SHEETS AND PICKING TUNES) and then loading them on the XCAL 2 that you already own? If so what is the avg $ for just one custom tune? And do you just store all of your custom tunes on your computer?

Cool I hope u get your tunes soon, you won't be disappointed. As for getting other tunes from other tuners, all you do is contact them or order on the website and fill out the information. If you plan on doing that to get other tunes. I would recommend giving Brenspeed a try. They got the tune to me with 5 business days and their tunes aren't bad at all. They are my second favorite tune. I've been having trouble with the bamachips, vmp tunes aren't bad either. He has decent customer service. I've had a problem with his original tune he sent and he kept working on it until it got corrected. It is a very decent driveability tune. Troyer is still my number one choice, hands down. But if you want to try others, that's your right and I would definetly try them so u can see for yourself. I have several different tuners stored on my computer, and thumbdrive. You just load them into your xcal 2 and then onto your truck very, very easy to do.

I went to VMP and bought my Xcal2 and the tunes. $525 including dyno time. I'm more than happy with my tunes, I'm glad I went with VMP Tuning.

To the original poster... Just call Troyer if you have a question.

Geting Pumped

Well still no word from Troyer and I haven't called them either. (I've been very busy) But the UPS tracking number I received says a package is showing up today. I hope it is my tunes. I am geting really pumped.
So what should I expect? Is it just plug in, read the stock tune, then load the new tune, and haul ***? Or is it a lenghtly process?
I need to burn up my 1/2 tank of 87 today and refill with the 93. I wish I did not have to go to my in laws for dinner. They always have rotten timing. Oh well, it is what it is. I hope the wait was worth it. I will let you guys know.
Thanks for all of the info.

It's a pretty quick process. The 1st time you connect the tuner to your truck, it will take a little longer because it has to read and copy your stock tune to the tuner. That will take 5-10 minutes. Then it's only a few additional minutes for it to upload the new tune to your truck. All in all, it shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes the first time. After that, it takes maybe 5 minutes to change tunes...

As far as using your 87 octane fuel, be sure you run your tank down pretty low before you fuel up with 93. Get it as low as you safely can... When I first got my tunes, I had over a 1/2 tank of the low octane gas in my tank, so I actually syphoned it out and put it into my wife's Honda.

Good luck, hope you enjoy it!

The Superduty is still in the family. My dad is going to take the F250 when the Tundra comes in.

Hello all-
Just to put my $.02 in there-I ordered my stage 1 kit from TP back on 5/5 and went through all the worksheets and such and was told 5 weeks for my tunes to be emailed. They sent the xcal2 empty to get the strategy and also sent my magnaflow cat back and AF1 intake at that time. Got the intake and exhaust within 4 days but have yet to recieve the tunes via email as of this date. Talked to TP this morning and they are still telling me that it will be another 5-10 working days. This is the fourth time I've heard that since the order. I don't know, I have my own floorcovering store, and one thing I've learned in 16 yrs in business is you need to under promise and over deliver, not the other way around. I'm being very patient, but I am leaving this weekend for quite a trip hauling a travel trailer and sure would like to see if those tunes make any difference. Crystal told me she would call me today and give me an actual status, cross my fingers.

I got my Troyer tunes today and I do have to say it was well worth the wait. My little 4.6 performs like a MUCH bigger motor now. Looks like my next purchase will be tires as I can't keep traction very well on the old stock Ameritracs.

I got my order in on 5/4 and no tunes yet here either; so you're not alone.
