One more edge ?

I just bouaght my edge and it will arrive in a week. I was wondering this. I know that in my 98 i will not be able to change the MPH and the gear ranges in the computer to get an accurate reading. But can i change them on the monitor and read the MPH of the monitor insted of my guages?

I guess noone knows the awnser for this ? I will just have to wait and find out. I am just scared of programming the pcm with a differnt tire size and then screwing it all up.

i dont know about that year but i am pretty sure on the newer ones that it rewrites the computer so the dash gauge and the edge should read the same....hope this helps

the 97 and 98 models dont allow for it to recalibrate the computer. But if i tell the edge to run this and leave teh edge screen to allow me to see the MPH will that screw things up?

I don't know what will happen!I know what your saying for those years to not except the changes.Assuming the edge will not let you change it in the PCM i don't know if it will allow it to let you see it on the screen of the edge.I think it will read the stock callibration no matter what you punch in.I could be wrong your best bet will be to call edge.Without the edge rewriting that part of the PCM i don't know if it will change between your speedo and the edge gauges
