Has anybody purchased one of these for a 97 - 03 F150? I have an 03 F150 5.4 and was wondering if the performance boost was worth it on the 2 valve motors.

Well I got my EDGE a week ago today. I had to wait for Edge to create an update cause mines was not working properly. Today they finally released my update, its awesome guys. Im running on Lv2 I burned out of my driveway and thats just the begining. Now Im thinking about gettting an S&B intake.

Now I got a quick question. If I buy an intake like the S&B do I still have to worry about the whole running lean and A/F or does the edge take care of that?

 

I have one coming for my 03

 

The S&B intake didn't throw any CEL codes on my truck.

 

i have a question for all the edge owner...this might be a stupid ? but does unit go off and on when u turn ur truck off and on or do u manually have to do it each time...thanks for your help...

 

The Edge powers off when the truck is turned off and turns on when it is started.

 

Have had my edge for about a month now and I love it wow.
I drive it level 3 all the time!
My mpg went from 10.5 to 12.5

 

Hi.

Three things:

1. If your truck had/has a lean condition from the factory, it will still be there or even exacerbated by the mods. Cannot know for sure unless it's measured (lack of a CEL is not a reliable indicator).

2. The Edge cannot correct for an aftermarket intake, or any other mod. Only a custom tuner can do that.

3.If you are certain that the truck is not running lean (after confirmung with measurements - also known as datalogging), then the S&B will most likely not cause a problem & is a good choce for a closed system - just not the best choice for power (same goes for the Edge, BTW).

I recommend you dive into the Search feature - you could have answered this question very quickly on your own as all the info related to this has been posted numerous times.

The Edge program that is controlling the operation of your engine is stored in the truck computer, and funtions in place of the factory program. The monitor is powered on and off with the ignition key. Additionally, you do not have to keep the monitor hooked up to use the edge program since the program you are currently running is stored in the trucks computer. This may be more than you were asking, not sure, if so I apologize.

 

Isn't the S&B intake a long with the Airaid and AF1 3" all designed to be used with stock tuning which should then not cause a CEL?? Not trying to get off subject, just adding.

From what I've read, that appears to be correct.

The caveat being, your '04 ( which have been known to run lean stock) is not misbehaving already.

Try calling TP - you have LOTS of questions, bud !

Just recieved my Edge last night. I checked for updates, but only Beta's were newer.
I am runing Level 1 currently. I will be doing some data logging to compare differences. I am in no hurry to go to Level 3.
