Vader,
I am happy nothing major went wrong and you graciously accepted the dismal details from those trying to help you.

Ok, a stupid question. I thought the '04 and above trannies were sealed without a breather port. I have read somewhere on this forum that they did this to extend trannie fluid life.

That being said, was the dipstick slightly out when you went muddin' or is the sealed statement completely wrong? I really would like to know because I have been in deeper but I don't see any mud on my dipstick and I had a little mud residue before the air filter but not after. Believe me I checked after reading this thread.

Again I think you handled everything great and I am not trying to dog anyone. I just don't want to be mis-informed.

Good luck next D-Day!!!

Vader, I think that once you get all the fluids changed out and everything cleaned up again you’ll be good to go. I doubt you’ll have any major damage; maybe a little extra wear and tear

Vader, it's too bad to hear what has happened to your truck. I know that feeling of disappointment, man.

Personally, I do ALL the maintenance on my vehicle (and I get 3 yrs free oil change from dealership) from fluids, tire rotations, filters, etc. because I like the feeling that it actually got done, you know?

As for going to Jiffy Lube.....they are certainly suspect. I am not proud to say that my brother worked there and would tell me horror stories of 'em screwing people over. I doubt that all JLs are like that but that was enough for me to lose faith and to keep doing those things myself.

I will also say that if you had that much of dirt/mud/muck/whatever in your tranny or engine, get a trade-in ASAP or be outta luck. Changing the fluids/filters and complete flush help but the damage is already done. I wouldn't assume that "it'll be okay" or anything like that from some other posters. I would error on the side of disaster.

Good luck though!
