The biggest performance bang for the buck mod you can do is custom tuning. I got a TP tuned XCal2 and it’s really pepped up my truck

I’m not exactly sure how much hp & torque you’ll gain because every truck is different but I can say that proper custom tuning will net you the most safe hp & torque available. It will make a huge noticeable difference in the overall drivability of your truck. Throttle response will be enhanced, shift points will be maximized and firmed up nicely, will go open loop instantly at WOT and the list goes on and on.

As far as using the XCal2, it’s a snap. You plug it in and load the tune of your choice (you’ll have three to choose from that you specifically have done for your needs) unplug it and you’re done, ready to go.

I personally have an 87-octane max performance, a 93-tow tune, and a 93-max performance tune. The 93-max is my favorite since I don’t do a lot of towing

Hi chug4real,

In a 2001 5.4 F-150 that is well maintained, we can generally gain about 35 horsepower in a premium gas tune, about half that in a tune for 87 octane fuel, just to give you a rough idea of what is possible to do *safely*.

The XCalibrator 2 is very easy to use, you simply plug it in and press a few buttons and it does it's thing - we provide detailed instructions for this, and the unit also tells you what to do right on it's LCD screen, so you really have to be not paying attention to do anything wrong. You can also return to stock at any time as well.

We provide a set of 3 different custom tunes set up for however you operate your vehicle and what your preferences are, and you don't need to know anything about this, we'll advise you on all of that - it's a pretty painless deal, actually.

Please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below & we'll be happy to go over all of this with you.
