Well back to the original issue. Seems after reading Doo's posts that we probably did not have the same issue. I am thinking that I probably did something wrong downloading, updating, whatever? (operator problem).

I loaded the latest update and loaded level 3 this morning. I did not customize any of the options, just loaded what came from Edge with this update for level 3. Just got back from a little spin. Everything seems good, but because we are getting hit pretty hard with snow here I was not able to do any performance runs.......but it sure was fun flying all over the place in the snow . As soon as I am able I will get some numbers.

Also, they added the average mpg function...seems pretty cool (thanks Bill!). Can't wait see what else they might have in store for us.

Maybe it's just me but when I first had version 12, the truck seemed like it was moving. Now it does not seem that way with the new version. I rarely if ever do WOT and I don't race, but it seems like the truck felt "lighter" with the previous version when I first got the tuner. Maybe nothing has changed and it's all in my head She's still a keeper and any improvement (even a small one) is good for me. And the features are great too. Oh well. I'll just have to get used to it.

TX, I just upgraded from 12 to 14 also last night. I have the exact same feeling. There seems to be more of a throttle lag now. My hex code is OKCM3A3. what is your hex?

Before this update I had no problems whatsoever and loved this thing. But something has changed.

Anyone know how to reset the average MPG without reloading the level again?

press and hold the enter button when you are on the parameter monitoring screen. It will pop up with a screen that asks you if you want to proceed with clearing the ave mpg, say yes.

Good, like I said, maybe it is just me. But I did notice a difference in the RPM shift point settings from the previous version. I also read that the 3-4 shift rpm should not be over 4700. It was said that it was hard on the transmission and not needed at those speeds anyway. Just info.

I am new here and really a Diesel guy. I came over here to ask some questions about my wifes truck. in reading most of this thread I got to say I would be frustrated if I were y'all. However I can tell you horror stories about SCT Xcal/2 and there updates and Re-flashes from ford and what not. I guess the point I am making is we want to run our trucks on the edge, in Technology its sometimes called the Bleeding edge.

Work with Edge, they need the input from users of there product, maybe try and provide them some before and after Dyno sheets to show what has happened.

Just my .02

11.2 MPG!

That numbers doesn't sound right, either......unless you were pulling a trailer up hill, both ways.

My grandfather has an 05 lariat that has a display avg of 12.5 (which is about the calculated value). He took it in to the dealer because of the mileage. The dealer hooked it up to the computer and the computer said it was getting 19 mpg?!?!?! Anyway, they didnt do anything because the Computer told them the mileage was 19 , even though the dash readout was 12.5. Who knows....

The first day, mine said 14.1. stayed around that number until yesterday and started going up was at 18 something went I shut it off. Maybe we need to reset each time, or just wait until Bill is back from the weekend.

He can fix it.

i noticed it kept creeping up on me yesterday also. did about 60 miles to and from work and it got to close to 20. do about 3/4 highway so didn't think much of it.....then did some running around town and it still climbed....hmmmmm...on my way home last night while on the highway i pushed the bottom button and it asked if i wanted to reset. i said yes and it went directly back to the way it should be. did not go to 0 since i was moving, it did go from over 25 down to 17-18.5 depending on how i was cruising and going up any hills. don't know why, but resetting it worked for me.

yep i do get 11.2 mpg... i know it sucks.. But i have a 4x4 screw lifted on 35's.. (on average i get 11.5-12mpg)

It seems like whenever you are coasting that it causes the average to get screwed up. therefor the more city driving you do the better your average gets haha.
