Edge Installed!! WOWWWW!
If there was no manual in the box, then that was a problem. Edge would never expect a customer to have to download a manual (except during Beta testing when they sometimes are not available.)
In any event, you will need to get ahold of tech support and go through the stockwriter process to recover your factory calibration. The process should take about 10 minutes to complete and your PCM will be back to stock.
As for the other question about hurting the PCM....
We have reprogrammed our test PCMs and truck PCM well over 250 times (each) without a single problem. So I'd say no, it doesn't hurt the PCM.

PS. I keep hearing problems with getting ahold of tech support........I've never had a problem.........most i waited was 2 days for an email reply, but I sent it on the weekend. Also, you should of got a manual with box it came in? Something wrong there. Also, if its helpful, there are plenty of sites that will let you download the PDF reader free. Good luck with your issues.
You are right but it would be nice if they gave me one. I have been trying to contact their tech support for 2 days. No manual or cd was in my box. I assume they expect me to download it but I have not done that yet since I dont have a PDF reader on this laptop.

Ok guys quick question. I recieved my evo last weekend and I plan on installing it for the first time tommorrow. Date of Manf on the unit is 1/23/06 with a version E3.08.08a. Kind of confused as to everything I'm reading on here. How do I know if I need to update my version?

They have been working very hard to correct and add features to the unit. You will know if it is up to date by downloading the software here.
https://local.edgeproducts.com/edge/..._download.html
Once installed in your computer you will need to go to
Start, All programs, Edge Products, Pre-install usb drivers
There are two of them you will need to install. Follow the instructions and you should be o.k. I don't know if anyone can tell you for sure unless you go to the Check for updates section on the software with your unit plugged in (before you connect it to your truck) it will tell you if you have the latest updates or not. Your unit probably sat on a shop or warehouse a few days, while the updates were being perfected and before they became available for download. Good luck.

When I'm driving down the road and let off to coast and then reapply the throttle things can get a little jerky or clunky. The truck isn't downshifting and I notice it the most around 45 letting off/reapplying and highway speeds letting off/reapplying.
I am up to date using the 14a calibration and my hex code is RXCM5E4. This happens if I set it to any level or if I do any custom tuning. I'm packing up to leave for a business trip for the next week (2/10 - 2/20) and will not be home much. Before I leave is there anything I can do so my problem can be looked into? I know you have multiple request on your desk so thank you for taking time to reply.

Nicky,
Thanks for the information. I have had a couple of folks mention a "jerkiness" but didn't provide any specific details. I will definitely take a look at that problem this weekend as one of our trucks happens to be an RXCM5E4 calibration.
If I am reading you post correctly, you experience this on any level. This is also extremely handy to know.
I have been trying to exterminate a few more Lightning bugs
so I can't promise I'll look into the "jerky" issue this afternoon but will definitely have time this weekend.
For everyone else....
You guessed it - Lightning software update. v1.02 0006.
I know for a fact that there will be one more software update after this so the software can actually check for a "Patch update" instead of downloading the full blown version of the software, but that's just a "cosmetic" change. You can still manually download the "Patch" file from the Edge Products website.
Back to work. They don't pay me for sleeping, ya know.
