Sorry, still new to the whole forum idea, but isn't the general concept about reaching out to your fellow enthusiasts and helping with questions and insights?

I haven't seen KOOLAID bash anyone. The only negatives I have seen in any of these threads about Troyers X-Cal II is that the technology is getting a little long in the tooth. That happens with everything. Oddly, as far as I have seen, there are more X-Cal II users railing against the Edge. Look back at the whole "That sums it up" series here.

Now can we kindly talk about the products and the trucks and stop calling each other names?

This is getting ridicules.

The "God Like" status that you guys have endowed Mike with, sounds a little creepy.

Get out of the house much?

SnowmaNick: This is the one that got my goat, although it is not the only instence.I just think koolaid pushes it a little hard on his end, like he is obsessed with having to knock Mike.I agree with the notion of helping but this is not helping at all it is bashing, blaitantly open in a negative light.

This is funny....

I wasn't knocking Mike in that post at all!

I was knocking Marc Carpenter as he thinks Mike is a God of some kind.

That's not a knock on Mike, at all.

Please work on your reading comprehension, before judging others.

Thanks.

Nope, #3 for this forum! You can sort by views at the home page for this forum.

I think it speaks to potential of programming in the 3v 5.4 and the "rather strong" preferences on this board of the programmers( as well as other things).

It's like loyalty in nascar. I will buy certain things because of the driver/team/car. I also WILL NOT go to Home Depot because of the SOB Tony Stewart lol....

Well, adding to the list of positives for the Edge, I was able to exchange the Superchips Flashpaq that I had for the Edge today (and get some cash back, nice).

All I can say is wow! This is the third programmer on this truck. I started with the Hypertech Power Programmer III: kept causing codes like mad, tried 3 different units, had tech support on speed dial, gave up on them and returned it. Next was the new Superchips Flashpaq, although the box says it allows for transmission firmness and shift points, it doesn't, verified through Superchips techs.

Now with this programmer, I can actually start to feel this engine wake up. Only got around 25 miles on it so far, but dang, all 25 of 'em put a smile back on my face.

I'm sure the Troyer X-Cal II is a very fine piece of equipment, and I am not trying to start anything here, I am just reporting my satisfaction and surprise for what a well made "canned tune" can provide.

Yet another question

Got another question for you guys..Today was the frst day I really hooked up the edge evo. As mentioned before I upped my tires to 285/55/ R20 BFG All Terrains. and I have a 3.73. Gear. I inputted these things in, set the tire mm to 2578 and it kept changing it to 2579... wasnt too far off so I said fine... Well throttle response was great!!! BUT when i stomped the gas from a dead stop i get some hesitation, and when it switches into second from a very short first it seems very violent and slams it into gear... it scared me honestly...

Any tips or ideas to fix this? im running level 2... the only things i change was i made sure the ratio was set to 3.73... hit enter and moved up and down to ensure it was set and did the same for the tires... Help me!! Im scared to stomp the gas now from a dead start

My guess is your tire size reverted back.. Check that and your wot shift settings.... Oh yeah, if all of that is right, call edge.

No, you don't have to do it everytime you start your truck. When you checked your tire size, did you select the "Load Previous Settings" (It's the last selection on the programming screen, you actually have to scroll down or up to it)? If not, I don't believe you will see the setting that you chose, you'll always see the default. I was told that the tire size may move up or down a few mm, the program choses the nearest number that gives a whole number for revs/mile in calculation. Have you updated to the latest update? I would do that first. Make sure you return the unit to stock before you update.

True.
kingx, Don't even check the settings unless you select "Load Previous Settings" otherwise it will put it back to the default (incorrect) tire size. If you're not changing tunes don't even look at it. Set it and make sure you hit "enter". If you are changing tunes go to "Load Previous Settings" and change want you want changed but don't even look at the tire size as it will set it back to default.

Thumbs up I've been "Edged" for a about a mounth now...

I wanted to say "Thanks!!" to all in this thread! I did the research, purchased and installed the Edge Evolution (EEF2100)

I purchased it from discountpowerparts.

As soon as I got it, I went out and hooked it up. (just to make sure it worked)

Once it copied my "default", I set her to Level 1. Great! noticed shift change.

Disconnected, and went inside. Downloaded Lightning 3 Software, did updates, checked out some of the options available... cool stuff... wasn't ready for all that... yet.

Went out, waited for default to load up again.... set her to Level 2. Drove that around for a day. AGAIN... WOW.... nice performance increase... VERY noticable,...

About a week later... after getting gas milage info from level 2, I filled her with 93 octane, set it to level 3. Now out on the highway... much improved passing power... big highway rpm improvement. (I drove from NJ to VA whilest set to this, got about 16.5 mpg FYI)

I currently have had only 2 Edge "lockups". They have only occured when I was attempting to make changes, and is easily fixed by disconnecting and re connecting the Edge.

So far this has proven to be a VERY SMART PRODUCT. I like the performance improvements, the heads up display that tells me AMPG / IMPG.. etc... I love that I can set the display to any color I choose! ( I have begun replacing my interior LEDS from green to BLUE!) I like the mounting system, and I just picked up the Gray color match paint and adhesion promoter from the paint store.

So thanks, this product is worth every bit ot the $350.00 I paid for it.

Let's just say we don't get much sleep around here and the gears are always turning!

ASEMechanic,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Average MPG already availble on the Edge? I purchased mine in early January and I've been using that feature already. Also, any chance that Miles until empty will be added to the Edge? I didn't get that upgrade on my FX4, but it would be nice to have in the Edge. Also, I'm running Level 2...Are there any custom adjustment that you might recommend?

Not trying to be a smart *** or anything but in regard to your Average MPG question....but what you quoted from ASEMechanic was from February 08, 2006.

Also...I haven't seen him around here in a few months.
