Rockpick ,
Thanks for the post . I have done almost word for word what you did . Except the unwrap and read , And INSTALL
Custom Tune. My paperwork is in but I am still in line waiting on Mike to wave his wand over my tune .
But after talking with Anita 3 (1 time my fault couldn't read my notes) times and Mike I time . And Vicky 1 time . I was really not surprised. I was IMPRESSED with their professional and helpful attention to detail. If the customer service after sale is anything like presale , I've found some people thatI am really going to like dealing with . I am really looking foreward more each day , for when the UPS man
drops the Magic at my door . Have fun!!! Please post the results of your 93 octane tunes , If you can stay out of the truck long enough to type !!! It helps some while some of us are still waitng , Hurts just a little too ,
Enjoy ,
Rick

Ok, you guys just suck..........

Saying things like, immediately noticable, wow, great service, what happened to my truck etc......

I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.

I just had to order one for my truck. Now I have to tell my wife that the truck told me to do it.

I don't know if she gets angry or jealous because the voices only talk to me. She blames the darn midlife crisis I'm going thru. OK with me as long as she don't hear those voices.

Rockpick,

Your right coming in here and reading these posts is so painful.

Just turned in my paper work for my upgrades this morning.

ITS KILLING ME!!

Fortunately I will be on vacation next week and there will be NO computers.....

OK, that was a complete lie, I am taking my laptop because I really am an addict... (plus a free broadband connection)

The first step in curing any addiction is admitting you have an addiction first.

Hi Rockpick,

WOW, what a review - we feel the same way, but it's what the vehicle owner thinks that matters. Thanks, to say the least!

You have a *very* special limited-edition F-150 there, a King Ranch. The Lariat's & FX4's are incredible, but the King Ranch edition takes the F-150 even further (if that's possible) - it's an amazing vehicle and I've love to have one - maybe next time.

The King Ranch is of course, all about the famous King Ranch down in Texas - BIG, beautiful, expensive, expansive, and the most luxurious and comfortable F-150 ever made. With their sheer size & weight, they can certainly use some help in the performance department.

I'm glad your enjoying our custom tuning, Brad - your review was very kind, we're just tickled pink we were able to make you happy, & can't thank you enough for your gracious post.

I'd also like to thank you for your information & knowledge on the detailing & vehicle care side of things when we spoke on the phone a couple weeks or so ago - your experience & knowledge in that arena is at least as thorough as ours is on the performance side - Steve really picked a winner to handle the Moderation of those areas of F-150 Online! I was very impressed with your credentials & bona fides, so to speak - I have a feeling you & I will be talking more in the future on that subject (read: I'll probably bother you at some point now & again).

Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you, whether it's performance-related or not - always happy to help those who help to bring us this wonderful web site!

Just wanted to drop a quick note to acknowledge a number of other posters on this thread I didn't have to time before, due to the supercharger R&D we were working on the past week or so..............

For everyone who already has their paperwork in on their custom tunes, or who is sending it in now - your tunes will be shipping out in the next coupla-few days. We're even working over this Easter weekend, so as to get even more of them done as quickly as possible. Like a couple of people have posted about how it's killing them to wait at all, every time we see those kinds of posts we work just that much longer & harder to get them done as quickly as possible (well, until we drop).

All kidding aside, thanks to everyone for their support - also, we are hopefully going to finalize on our new banner & sticker design, so that our customers can get their Troyer Performance stickers, etc.

As RockPick promised, and as yo have seen so many others here rave about, it is indeed well worthwhile going with our custom tuning.

Last - we'd also like to wish everyone a wonderful & peaceful Easter - and at the risk of sounding like some religious "nut" (which I'm not - just thankful), I'd like to suggest, for those of you who feel it's appropriate, to maybe think about saying a little extra prayer for our troops overseas (and all mankind) this Easter - hey, I figure it can't hurt.

Our bests to all,

I got my tracking Number E-mail with a delivery date inculded. and I just checked the tracking # , Xcalibrator is on time on schedule !!!!!!!!!!
It's getting REALLY CLOSE !!! The weather is really nice low 70's but not supposed to last storms tonight and rain and colder till next week . Sure would have been nice with the dry roads the last couple of days to have tried that 93 preformance tune
But it is on the way !!! I will post when I get a tune in and get some personal info about the differance !!!

Well guys the waiting is over . I got the tuner yesterday and of course with to other things going on didn't get the instructions read till after dark. And with the tempature already under 40 figured per the hints and does and don'ts on the pages of info I figured to wait till after work today !!!!!
I topped off the the gas tank the 2nd tank of 93 octane V- Power Shell !! I really wanted to be ready for the 93 tow and the 93 preformance tunes.
I installed the 93 preformance tune and WOW !!!!!! Your right Rockpick . I really wonder where my truck went and how all my stuff got in this strange Truck . She pulls now I run it up to almost 85mph still seemed like it was really wanting to keep on going but with the rough roads POTHOLES I shut her down there . I took the time Run thur the 0 to 60 marked off length that I run it thru with the stock program on the way home . I then installed the 93 octane preformance tune . And then ran her thur speedo read over 60 by almost the width of the needle as best I can tell . I run the tests about 45 min. apart .
I was impressed Rockpick said it and I will repeat the truck runs now like I always wanted it to . Enough on that for now anyway , I still can't belive the differance the truck feels and acts like a different truck. I said enough .
The installation after reading the paperwork "2 times" was as easy as I hoped it would be !!!
The flashing lights changed speed like Mikes hints said the would and you only have to be patiience and not HURRY things . Bottem Line after just 8 miles and a few minutes behind the wheel and I think that the tuning is goin to be all I had hoped for !! It WAS and IS worth the wait guys !!! It really is . Now I can change my signature
to Tuned by Troyer Preformance .
Big smile on my face yet,
Rick

My custom tune was ninth in line as of last tuesday. Hopefully Mike will get to it soon. I'm only putting a little gas in when I need it so I can to the 93 octane tune asap. I will post results when I get it.

Hi Rick,

Very nice review, thanks!

I suppose it's only fair to point out that our tuning isn't going to turn these 2.5-3 ton new body style trucks into rocket ships - sometimes people think that it should feel like a supercharger when they read so many of the "WOW" type of posts here.

In the new body style trucks with the ETC (throttle by wire) systems, the terrible factory throttle lag is gone, and there is more power everywhere. Even when just cruising around at light throttle, many people comment that the truck seems to "feel lighter" thanks to the improvement in throttle response times & increased torque.

Thanks very much for your post, glad to hear you're enjoying our custom tuning!

Hi Mike,
Your welcome !! Lighter that is what I wanted to
say and coudn't get it typed out here .
Per our conversation and all your posts I was NOT looking to make a dragster out of that heavy of a truck . Just make it as you said lighter and more driveable . And with the 93 TOW
tune I am hoping top make it into a better tow machine also .
I will let you know the results of that as soon as I get over this Stupid Head Cold and I get to towing . Thanks again for the much improved truck . Still got a big om my face thinking about it .
Rick

Eyeman, what 3 programs did you get. I tow a trailer around for work about 70% of the time in the summer and just wondering what programs I want to get. Also a question for you guys, how easy is it to change your programs. LIke When im done towing the trailer for the day is it like a 2 min thing to go back and forth. Also Mike whats with these hours. I tried to call you up today to talk and order it up at about 5:30 and you closed at 5. Guess I'll give you a call tomarrow.

It takes about 5 to 8 minutes to switch from one tune to another with the Xcalibrator; very simple process. I got an 87-octane performance, a 93-octane tow-preferred and a 93-max-performance tune. The way I figure, if I have to tow I got both grades of gas (87 & 93-octane) covered because if I’m running my 87-octane performance tune and an emergency tow situation comes up I’ll just load my stock tune back in.
