I just proved to you that my v6 is making more power than your 5.4. You called it a wimp v6. What exactly does that make your 5.4 if it doesn't make as much power as a wimp v6? Also, we're supposed to believe that although your 5.4 makes less power than my 4.2 that you can outrun and outpull mine. Can you explain how that works to us from fantasy land?

I think I need to redo those numbers to be more exact.

your 5.4 = 65/260 = %25 power loss stock

mine 4.2 = 30/205 = %14.6 power loss stock
mine 205 + 25 + 8 + 3 = 241 superchip/k&n/mobile one
mine 241 * .854 = 205.8 hp

Cool

Bill if your truck is more powerful than mine why can I pull FOUR TIMES what you can?
Also you have totally forgot about torque.
The 5.4L generates 345lbs and if I remember correctly the V6 is in the low 200s
BIG DIFFERENCE
Also the matter of gearing.
The 3.55s are a lot stronger than the 3.08s

So when are you going to tell us where you live so we can lay this matter to rest once and for all?

your 345 * .75 = 258.75 stock

mine 255 + 30 = 285 * .854 = 243.39

don't know the torque added by k&n and mobile one.

Pretty damn close on that torque huh?

And don't forget tire size. If you put tall tires you negate your gear/torque advantage of 15 fp.

Red face

AGAIN, where do you live so we can lay this matter to rest.
Please explain for us why your more powerful truck can only pull 1/4th what mine can.

Do your research. Automatics lose 25 percent of their power through the drivetrain. Manuals lose 15 percent. In the case of the f150 it's actually 14.6 loss for the manual. I worked out the match for you proving that I make more power than a stock 5.4 automatic. It would seem to me like you need to give us a theory on why your truck can outpull a truck that has more power.

Could the reason you believe your truck can pull 4 times more than mine is that you were told that and it might have been true if mine were at 175 horsepower which is would be in stock configuration with it's 15 percent drivetrain loss while your's was at 195 with it's 25 percent loss.

Why would they rate that truck at 4 times the v6 pulling? Would you have bought it if they told you that with $300 you could have the v6 making more power?

So tell us how you can pull more and run faster with less power.

Cool

Let's race and find out once and for all!!!!
Have you ever actually raced a 5.4L?
I personally have spanked a few V6s and 4.6Ls and yours would be just one more.
So are you going to tell us where you live or are you too chicken?

Wink

Oh no. I'm a big ole chicken. I don't race because I'm a fraidy cat. You'll have to deal with the numbers if you want to defend your 5.4 cause I ain't dying, paying tickets, or breaking nothing over a truck.

Thumbs down

Ok Bill, OK! UNCLE!
I thought I had something till I read your posts. The numbers don't lie. Thanks to you I'll have to glance with fear at every F150 I come across, not just the Triton badges.

It's not fair that you do a few hundred dollars in mods and I coughed up over 1200 for the ego engine and the only thing I will discover about your truck is whether you have a tow package.

Question

Doesn't race but buys a $300 chip to do what?
Brags about how fast his truck is but never drives it fast?
So please tell me again why you bought the chip?
I get 19mpg on the highway on 87 which is much cheaper than the 93 you are buying.
Of course if I went down the interstate at 45 like you do I could get 22 mpg.
Even V6 owners have said that their MPG is not much if ant better than V8.

Ohh and here's a story of a V6 and 5.4L race and how it went: https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000028.html
Ohh and see if there are ANY V6ers that want to run me.

Raoul, if you have a problem with the numbers then please explain how and why.

54regcab, I paid $300 for the chip because it increases my horsepower/torque. I pull a trailer sometimes and 175 just wasn't doing it. The horsepower numbers speak for themselves unless you can refute them?

Hey 54regcab. You haven't been paying attention. That v6 that lost over there was a automatic. That means he started out with 153.75 horsepower. He has a long way to go to just pull even with the stock 5.4 with is at 195.
