Dear Corey,

Thanks for your response, that clears a lot of things up! Still, even $600 Canadian dollars isn't cheap, by any means! And I completely agree with you, there's no way you're going to get say, 20% better gas mileage consistently in the F-150 from the Superchip, that's too much. The 5.4 F-250 & 350 Super Duties will pick up that kind of percentage gain in gas mileage, mainly because they're such gas hogs to being with, but not an F-150.

15 cents more per litre is what, about 60 cents more per gallon, is that about right? That's a huge difference!

When you install the supercharger, you don't want any *increase* in spark advance, it will have to be retarded as boost rises. Some of them can take a little more spark on the very bottom end, before boost comes up, but as soon as it starts making boost, timing has to be retarded to compensate. Of course once you bolt a blower on, that's not going to help gas mileage either, but it sure will be a lot more fun to drive, eh?

You've got plenty of time to decide just exactly what you want to do with regards to a chip, or which blower, etc., and good luck with your blower project! I've been dying to put one on my car, but so far, I've only talked about it.

Hey Neal, you crazy guy!

Congrats on getting your software set to not make us all scroll anymore! Even running 1280X1024 on a 21" I still had to scroll, much better, thanks!

We program those Oldsmobile Aurora's too, and they run well at higher rpm's, that's where they make their power. They are 250 hp stock, and with a lot less weight than you and a much better aerodynamic profile, I'd say you did darn good! The Aurora runs anywhere from 15.5-16.0 stock, with most of them in the mid-15's. Their acceleration time from say, about 90 on up would probably give you a hard time.

Be careful, you rascal!

OK after the Power aid install, I finally got to play with my bed empty (had to put weight in the back for traction in snow) I was at a light (three lanes) with a big ol' dodge on my right and a jeep on my left, which I paid no attention to. I told my son "we gonna get us some dodge butt!" With my radio off to listen to the engine, the light turned, and I hit it (3/4 throttle due to stupid winter-mix gas) leaving the dodge behind, but what do I hear on my left? screeching tires and a hell bent shift (manual) to second. I said "OK, you too", and hit the gas all the way. I stayed in first longer but was ahead of him the whole time. Second gear made him get even smaller in my rear view. Next light, I can see by the look on his face that he thought it was a fluke and was going to show me a thing or two. I told my son "look he wants to go again!" I nailed it when the light turned and beat him by even more this time. He admitted defeat and got in my lane way behind me. I guess he just didn't want to try again at the next light, or maybe he was trying to read my tailgate. I showed him and then some too. (literally)
Now if only I can find a "worthy" opponent.

Mike,

I've already begun to remedy my situation (of being beat by a shovy). I have a little old nitrous kit ordered for my baby, now I'm gonna have to run premium fuel I suppose, or at least whenever I wanna spray.

The nitrous is gonna be quite a bit cheaper than the blower for now, I'm just concerned about timing with the juice. I'm going to have to find a way to retard the timing at WOT. I'm wondering how I can mix the combo of a chip and the nitrous for now... Any ideas?

Are you going to be open for business on Monday Mike? I wouldn't mind giving you a call...

Corey

Hi Corey,

Yes, of course we open back up on Monday! We actually have a product that will do what you want, provide one program for daily street use, and then another program for use with nitrous oxide, we've been doing that for years now with our Flip Chip.

I'll be happy to take your call!

Well today I killed a blazer, while on my way to try to teach a chevy driver how to use a computer. Maybe I was complelled to beat a chevy to "make up" for what I was about to do. I was at a light next to this guy who decided to go for it, after he got to read my tail gate. I heard him next to me after I slowed down (I usually slow down once their "done" so as not to waste gas while "rubbing it in") So I nailed it and we were both going full speed down the street. He did get next to me, but I had to look over my shoulder to see him. I was smiling, but he was looking staight ahead. (I guess those chevys go faster if ya look ahead real hard) We went through two green lights and he never could get his front bumper even with mine, so he gave up. Too bad that's the closest I ever came to getting beaten by a "truck-like" vehicle. Still lookin' for a Truck to kill.
"New computer chevy owner" wouldn't dare, but his brother might, after I told him I could beat his daddy's new "Got a Mechanic Comming"
BTW did ya know that GMC owners get upset when you call they're ride a chevy? Go figure!!

I did it!!! I got me a Z71 this morning!! I don't know what they weigh, but he had a "extra" cab like mine, so we must be close. He was behind me at the light, but maybe read my tail gate, or for whatever reason, decided to pull around and get "next" to me. The Bozo started a whole truck length ahead of me. No I'm not calling him a bozo because he is a chevy driver. It's because I always stop at a light behind the white line and this Bozo had stopped completely over the line, hence a full truck length. He also assumed the "stare ahead and the truck will go faster" position. I killed him off the first light, and much to his astonishmemnt killed him again at the second. This one was hard headed however, and the third stop put us at a "Y" where the right lane turns right and the left goes stright or has to make a sharp left. I knew he was going to try and turn right from his left lane, so I only "rolled" though the stop sign and then took off because I didn't want to fight a "hard head" for postion on a turn. I get to the light and am waiting for him and what does he do? He "times" the light and is doing about 30 passing me when it turns green. I took off but didn't really try to catch him cuz this road is getting closer to the city and is pretty rough with a few turns. In fact he must have been try to determine if I was comming, or else just couldn't handle it, beacuase he is now all over the road. So I just hung back thinking "I just bet he thinks he is so smart for timing that light", but at least I can handle my Truck, and have the good sense to drive appropriately where needed. Besides I already beat him twice on the straights.
Ta! Da! So there you have it, Ford Tough, and then some too.

You go, girl!

You're starting to sound scary out there on the roads, like Neal the HP Freak! Actually, I'm just kidding, it sounds like you showed good common sense in not letting it get out of hand coming into the city, good for you!

Dear God, we need more women like this! And send them all to us here C/O F150online, please.

ATST,

Good for you... Now, are you practicing for our race or you trying to scare me off? BTW is it 2 out of 3 or one race, winner takes all?
