Cool

Well I certainly feel better now. (I just hate it that I get tickets and nobody else seems to) But hey, you don't have to get any more tickets just to ease my pain, you can stop right there. We'd all be miserable just thinking about Neal the HPF having to go the speed limit!!
Over here if you don't make any changes to your ins. policy, they don't check. So lets just say I won't be getting a new anything for at least two years, when those points come off.
Why is it only cars full of teenagers try to race me at lights? Although it is fun embarrassing them, I guess no Trucks have any b@lls around here!
I'm gonna take all the weight out of my bed and see what I can do in my new snow tires. Yesterday I had about 500 lbs plus the old tires in the bed and I could still chirp them, but then they "grab and go." Got to be "familar with your equipment" I always say.

ATST,

Bring your truck on over to Windsor, I will race you. I bet Neal will too. Just to make it fair he can only start in 2nd and must leave it in 2nd all through out the race.

Angry

Gee do ya think your 5 speed will make up for yours being a 4x4?
I hope you think I'm smarter than to race Neal! hey maybe if we race before he gets his blown head gasket fixed...naw.
Heck I'd consider going if I knew how hard it is to get a ticket over there. They probably target out of country plates. In some states over here, they'll put you in jail if you don't pay the ticket "on the spot"
I just can't seem to have any fun with out getting a ticket

HI!... It was funny because the cop told me that I should of known better to pick on a smaller, lighter vehicle. I made sure he knew that my truck was a full size "FORD" and not a full size CHEVY and that those little trucks with 190h.p were no problem for my 310h.p full size one. By the way did I forget to mention that it took him 3 blocks to finally catch up with me! OOOPPPSSS!!8-)

ATST,

I was hoping it would. Besides, I only offered because you said no one would race you over there.

HI!... ANDTHENSOMETOO : 3months!!! Must be nice. I am going to end up getting 4 points for my little stunt. Here in CANADA the police keep up on your tickets for 2 years and your insurance company keeps it on record for 3 years. So I guess NEAL is going to have to be a good little boy for the next 3 years to get back to "0" points. Sometimes Canadian laws really suck. That also means when I get the "POWER RANGER" on the road at the end of next yaer that I will also have to be a good boy too!!!

Neal, are you sure the insurance company checks your driving record? As far as I know, the only time they check is if you are applying for a new policy, then they will ask for an abstract. Must really be tough in Canada if they check every traffic violation! Can you imagine what it's like to go through every record and then figure out if that's one of your customers? Unless they can download the database...

Most insurance companies do a check on your driving record automatically every year prior to renewal time. They didn't *used* to do this every year, it used to be primarily when you applied for a new policy, and then every 3 years after that. Now, however, they check on you every year. They all have deals cut with the DMV in every state to get this info.

After not getting any tickets for many years, after my wife and I moved out here to the mountains, I quickly racked up 4 tickets or maybe more, as I got up to 11 points, ouch! (no, my driving didn't change) There isn't much for law enforcement to do here, so all they do is set up roadblocks, speed traps, etc., everything they can do to raise revenue I suppose. Of course, if my sometimes-trusty Valentine 1 radar detector hadn't burned out a transistor and stopped detecting X-band, I wouldn't have gotten *any* of those tickets.

What's the moral? Slow down? Nah, I don't usually drive more than 10 mph or so over the limit....just get the radar detector fixed quicker next time. It'll be a lot cheaper than my current insurance rates!

HI!... DENNIS : Here in CANADA as far as I know, as soon as you get a speeding ticket your insurance company is informed. (after paying the ticket of course) About 5 years ago I got 6 tickets in 6 months and my insurance company called me within a week of getting each ticket.Slow down and stop racing: I don't think so!!!!!! I'm a good little boy!!!LOL

Dear Andthensometoo,

Just don't get clocked at 147 mph, whatever you do. Don't ask, it was years ago.

MikeT, Thanks for the info. I haven't gotten a speeding ticket in a few years... A while back, got 3 tickets in a 3 year period. Insurance didn't go up. That's when I found out they didn't check unless you got a new policy.

Damned these computers and databases!!! I guess it's a simple matter to check now.

I guess the best incident for me was when I was driving 75 in a 45 mph zone. The cop was driving in the opposite direction. I went by him on the curve so fast, I wasn't sure it was a cop car or not. A little while later, I saw the flashing blue lights. I pulled over and waited for him. What the hell, he caught me, I can't run from the radio.

LOL... he came up to me scratching his head and smiling. He said he thought he'd have to chase me down. He said he HAD to give me a ticket because I was going WAY over the limit, but since I didn't try to run away, he wrote me up for going 10 over instead of 30.

After my third ticket, I got a radar detector. I haven't used it in at least 4 years... ever since they dumped the radar guns and went with laser. Oh well...
