As fast as you were going you didn't need any ice, you could've stuck you arm out the window...NOT. That pretty good for a full-sized truck. Hope you heal quickly.

HI!... First of all : Sorry to here about your arm LOVELL1. SECOND: It's funny that you brought up your 123-125mph run because I just got off the phone with MIKE T (about my SUPERCHIP "no start" problem) and our conversation turned to this thread. I was curios to ask him if he thought that my truck with all it's mods and the SUPERCHIP would hit 120-125mph. I guess you LOVELL1 answered my question for me, thanks! P.S: Hope your arm gets better soon.

Dear Lovell1,

Good Grief! What a lousy way to find out how fast that truck will go with a Superchip. I'm just glad to hear you made it to the hospital in one piece! I wonder how fast your wife had her Camaro SLP up to in catching you guys, she must have been *flying*!!!

Congrats on the 125 mph, at any rate, SHEESH!

Let's hope your arm heals quickly, that's what counts. I'm glad you were in a NASTRUCK going at those speeds, as it's a bit lower and handles better at speed than your run-of-the-mill F-150, and that probably helped you and your driver get there in one piece.

Let's also hope that nobody else has to go through this kind of experience!

Question

HI!... MIKE T I got a question for you. But first let me explain what happened this afternoon. I was doing a oil change on my dad's f-150 today and when I was done I decided to take it out to the 401 to "lets say, blow out all the carbon". My old man drives like a "old man". I don't think his truck ever sees over 3000rpm unless I'm behind the wheel. So while driving I decided to see if his truck had what it takes to hit the high speed limiter. First of all he has a "97" BLACK F-150, RC, LB, 4.2-V6, 3.08 NO POSI.(stock) Well the truck hit 145kph topped out in second gear at 5350rpm.(tach must not be accurate) Then when I got close to hitting 160kph and expecting to hit the limiter there was nothing. I kept it to the floor and the speedometer needle went past 160kph and hit the top of the gear indicator box. It kept pulling very slowly up to 4150rpm - 4200rpm until the motor just stopped pulling. (not enough power) I never hit or felt the limiter at all. My buddy has a "98" F-150 RC, SB, 4.2-V6, 3.55 NO POSI and his won't rev past 5000rpm and hits the limiter at about 155-157kph. I even ran my dads truck on my computers DRAGMATH program and with 4100rpm, 3.08 gears, 1.00 third gear ratio, and a 28.95 diameter tire it said that I was going almost 115mph. I know this program is very accurate because when I put my truck on it, it is right on the money. So my question to you mike is my dads truck some kind of "FREAK" truck or what!

Hey folks
Thanks for the concern. They thought I was going to lose some use of my hand but thanks to a GOOD docter and agressive treatment I am going to be fine. Just a little discoleration on my hand. If any one gets a bad burn FYI don't put any oil on it just run cold water over it for 4or5 min. then pack it in ice and get to a docter at a hosp. If you happen to have any sulferdine creme you can use that only! Get your docter to perscribe some and keep it aroun for emg.
Thanks again

lovell: you sure are lucky, Well unlucky in that you got burned in the first place. But very lucky that your hand will be OK. Burns really hurt And also lucky that your friend was able to drive that fast and not have an accident getting there. I bet after you calmed down from that speed ride that you were glad he got you there so quickly!!

Wink

Hey folks
That ain't half this convoluted funny story! Last week I took a new job offer. But I'm getting ahead of myself. At the hospital emg. the first thing they did is take your blood pressure. Well let me tell you after going 33 miles in 18 to 20 min. (the last 5 miles in a traffic jam on IH35 thru the medians) the durn machine let off this gawd awfull wail and the nurse just looked at me and said I broke it! Now as I'm pushing 50 I didn't let that bother me much but she was perturbed enough to send in this young fella with a big grin on his face to give me a big shot in the hip. It put me in lala for 24 hours. Now being as I had been accepted for this job as a new gen. manager of a resturant and had already given notice to my old restraunt and having a long history of being a chef, this recruter proceeded to clip a lock of my very short hair for a drug screening. I thought nothing of it until it dawned on me that this nurse had already done me in. I felt like Arlo Gruthey tellin about Alices Restruant. Me a Chef a burnin myself then hows I'm gonna test positive like some dope head heroin addict. Well as it turned out my Ford Nastruck saved me again! His short hair and my short hair and our shared love for fast trucks and cars prevailed. I guess he figured no one that drove a truck like mine could be that bad.
THANK ALL OF YA'LL
for your concern and keep on trucken!

First off Lovell glad to read your ok and have lots of spirit.
My story isn't quite as interesting but, thought I should share my road trip to SO. CAL. this past week. Headed down their to pick up my daug. from summer vacation with her grandpa. Well let me tell ya, this FORD truck can handle most all. I cruz'd down and back (approx. 1,000 miles each way) with the cruz control on 90, air conditioning, and tunes blaring. I had every make, model, color, and style, stuck to my bumper both ways and no one taking the lead. Going through the mountains was the best time. Had a number of foreign sports cars I lost through the curves and uphills. Hardly ever shifted down on its own, just kept flying. Having lowered the truck has helped the handling surprisingly, actually gave me the "*******" a few times till I got used to how well it held. Tires griped like "King Kong".
The best part was early this morning, feeling a little punchy after driving all day and night, and found myself charging up on an Expedition in the fast lane. Well I gave him the little headlight "flash" , (he didnt move over, Darn), tried it again, nothing, doing about 83mph at this point. Then He turn on a tree of lights across his back upper window. WOW! He punched it and pulled away. I stayed at 80 and kept heading for home, never saw him again! Lucky me. Thanks for letting me share.

very stable to 120, wind pushes you a little a 130, a lot at 140, i had a slight tailwind, and a perfectly straight , smooth 8mile stretch. small ground effect behind passenger front wheel and passenger rear wheel are now loose. i guess they are only guaranteed to 140

Cool

HI!... MRBBQMAN 148mph! WOW! Just imagine when you get the SUPERCHIP that raises your boost level, K/N filter, headers, and a true duel exhaust. I bet then, that you will probably come close to the 155-160mph range. Now thats fast for a truck! Right now you must give a FIREBIRD or a CAMARO SS a good run, espeically for top end. I hear that they only top out at 150-152mph. GO FAST AND BE SAFE from your bud NEAL (the h.p freak)8-)
