What is Color Sanding?

You guys might be right, but the way I was tought to 'color sand' is as follows;
*Get the body work as smooth as you possibly can...fill, prime, sand, prime, sand, prime til you think you're done and you'd swear its ready for paint.
*Shoot a very light coat of a different color primer over the existing primer...like gray over red.
*Block sand the gray til you see red peaks and/or gray valleys. This color difference shows you where the high and low spots are.
*Address those spots.
*Repeat the process til the gray comes off uniformly.
That's the way I learned it.

Yhea, the new paints are really thin. Take more than .3 mils away from the clear and you'll cause premature clear coat failure.
