Zaino Question
I actually used the Z1 since i have a fricken bottle of it. Doesnt hurt. Since the truck was brand new and i wasnt exactly sold on the new ZFX stuff, i did the tried and true.
I still prefer the old Zaino method over ZFX for appearance. I use the ZFX only to slap 3 coats on in one day.
How many bottles having you been getting out of that fricken $29 little blue bottle?

Dumb Question
If I did a dawn wash I know it will strip the wax off but will it mess with my trim at all? I know some one who was using dish soap and thier trim looked like it had fadded (it lost it's black shine) I know if this happens to just use some trim shine but I was just wondering what to expect from someone who has already done it

I have been using Zaino for about 6 months. When I first got it I did the dawn wash on my truck as instructed to strip off any wax. I did not have any problems with the dawn hurting or fading any of the trim. I have only washed the truck once with dawn so I don't know if someone used it over and over if it would hurt the trim. With Zaino it is only recommended to wash with dawn prior to using their product. Once you have Zaino on you don't need to wash with dawn soap anymore.

when i do the dawn wash, i'll probably go over all my trim with a tooth brush and dawn soap to get any white residue off the trim before i start using Z, because that shouldn't leave any white, and i might as well get rid of it for good. Then when i'm done i'll do vinyl dressing or something on all the plastic.
Does that really matter? You should reapply trim dressing every once in a while anyway for protection, so its no biggy if it takes the shine off, cuz it would need some vinyl stuff anyway.
I plan on getting a tooth brush and some pretty concentrated dawn wash in a cup, and scrubbing all the trim pieces to get any white wax residue off before i start using zaino, so it never has to come back again since zaino doesn't leave white marks
the zaino came in the mail today btw.
holy crap is that a small amount of zfx!!!
Its like 1/2 a bottle of liquid breath mint stuff! How many ounces is that good for, about 8?
thanks

Didn't that just blow you away that little bottle of ZFX? Yes it will last for the whole 8oz bottle of Z-2, actually you might have just a bit left over. When I use it I put 2oz of the Z-2 in the mixing bottle and add (I think its 10 drops of ZFX, what ever the max is) and it lasted for the whole bottle of Z-2.

Are you talking about the natural shine as in "new" or shine from using dressing? If your talking about the "new" shine, no the dawn will not affect it at all. At least it didn't on mine. If your talking about dressing shine then yes it will remove what ever dressing you have on it since dawn is used to strip all wax, oil etc from the surface of the truck. My truck is just a little over a year old now and I just started using dressing on the trim. It was still pretty shiny "new" shine but decided to start protecting it before it fades which it will do in time without dressing.

that answers my question. I appreciate it!! I cant wait to really get my truck shinnin. I just got it recently (only have made 2 payments) Only problem i have is i think that the dealership got it with a dirty towel before they gave it to me and it seems there are swirl marks from certian angels nothing too deep but they are there and i dont think anyone but me would even notice but you all know how it is Any suggestions?

This is off subject for the thread, but you mentioned the dealer and a dirty towel. I have noticed that sometimes the dealers act as if your just getting a rental car and don't care much about it like your just going to pay you $40.00 and thats it.
When I bought a Mustang a few years back I went to take it for a test drive. The salemans jumps in and throws the dealer plate up on the dash. Put a nice scrap in it. Took it on the drive got back and then he asked "so do you want it?" I said sure as long as you have another green one. He asked what was wrong with the one I just drove and I told him I don't want that one it has a huge scrap on the dash and I want a new car with no damage.
He looked at me like I was crazy and I told him I was serious and that I hoped he could have the other fixed because I dought anyone would want it now.
