If you are worried about white on trim, then you need to get Klasse. It is synthetic wax and won't leave white on trim. Plus, a few layers will last you six months.
If you do use a carnauba wax and get white on trim, then you can use several things to remove it. Rubbing alcohol, peanut butter, peanut oil, or a natural degreaser. Make sure you remove it fast, otherwise it becomes very hard to remove. I have found a toothbrush is great for scrubbing.

EVERYONE has an opinion. So here's mine. Intel 486 makes some very good suggestions. I personally don't have any experience with Klasse but do use the Zaino products on my Black S'Crew and love it. It too, is a synthetic and won't leave the white residue on plastic. It gets better with every coat and, because it is not a Carnauba wax, it lasts much longer. I'm one of the few nutcases that uses Natural Carnuba (Mother's to be exact). I've used the other products, and I'm just amazed at the way the "wetness" that the natural leaves as opposed to the synthetic. Although syns do shine it up quite nice, it's almost a 3D fluid effect with dark colors when you use natural carnuba.
Indeed, you have to wax more often. But in reality the hood and the roof are the only items that really pick up the heat so to speak (I live in Florida). You also can get wax on the trim, but after waxing your truck time and time again it rarely happens (for me anyway), and if I take it right off after I get it on the plastic trim it comes off much easier.
And believe it or not, I like waxing my truck....I don't like washing, but I do like waxing...So more frequent waxes are really a non-issue, especially with an orbital buffer.

In the quest for the perfect shine, there are many good choices. So much of it depends, as you have pointed out, on how often you can wash/wax, if you have a garage, if you get lot's of salt, if you have a PC or apply it by hand, what color your vehicle is (Some are better on certain colors than others), If the paint is new, clean, or oxidized, Clearcoat or not.
My opinion is if you are waxing your truck, whatever you use, it's a good thing!!

Zaino. Easy on, easy off. It's a little time consuming to get started using it, but once you see the results, it's well worth the extra effort up front.
But, like a lot of things, you've got to be happy with it. Choose what best meets your expectations.

I have been using ZYMOL for the last couple of years on my vehicles and have nothing negative to say. I highly recommend this wax.

I'm with laser red, Zaino all the way. he's right when he says it 's a little time consuming at first, but I think it's well worth it. If yoiu go all the way with using the clay bar and all the waxes, it's a good feeling in my onpinion to know that it was done right. AUTOGLYM
I just bought and applied one-coat of AutoGlym polish yesterday. Made in England...bought at a local detailing supplier. It was recommended to me by a friend who professionally details. I will be putting on a second coat today and will let you know about final appearance, i.e, swirls/streaks/haziness, etc. The first coat went on easy. It tends to thicken as you spread it. When buffing with a microfiber towel, there were some spots that needed a little more pressure to remove. It seems to dry pretty hard...my initial assessment on the first coat is positive. It also comes off plastic trim fine.

Results of second application of AutoGlym...
I've never seen results from any wax or polish like AutoGlym Super Resin Polish. Cost me $25 for a 1 liter bottle and there is enough left to last at least another 10 applications.
The finish is astoundingly brilliant and deeper than when I picked it up from the dealer 15 months ago. Absolutely no swirl marks and it covered the majority of the ultra-fine scratches that you get from normal washing/drying black painted vehicles.
By far, this is the best product I've used so far...including Maguire's, Mothers, Zaino Bros and Zymol which I thought were pretty darn good.
The finish is astoundingly brilliant and deeper than when I picked it up from the dealer 15 months ago. Absolutely no swirl marks and it covered the majority of the ultra-fine scratches that you get from normal washing/drying black painted vehicles.
