Yes, it is a good wax. It has brazillian carnuba. I've always had great results with this wax and their detail spray. I have been using it for the past 13 years. The only thing that I have found is, its really dusty taking it off. It leaves the paint kinda of wet looking.

Is it any cheaper than the stuff you are using now? I don't think wash soap or QD is going to be any *better* than Megs.

Won't get any argument from me on this post, and I was 100% megs back in the day.
81-7-26 and FD-51 were my product of choice. Then I opened my eyes and found better ( 85% PB ).

Pinnacle and Wolfgang I won't buy, but that is not a usage issue. Same for Cobra MF towels and Blackfire.
Stuck with some Diamonite products, but that is due to what seems to be a LC end of product by attrition maneuver.

Wash soap and QD? Please..........

Cleaners, compounds, polishes, waxes - that's a different story.

You want cheap QD, get a jug of ONR and mix your own. It comes out to be a small fraction of the price of anything that's premixed.

For soap, in one corner case, no.
I found using Gold Class in the foam cannon did not work as well as PB Super Slick & Wax soap.
I used a 7:1 ratio ( 28 oz or water & 4oz soap in the bottle ) and found I can get 2 cars out of the PB mix where I have to crank up the Megs soap mix to get the same foam on the car. This made it 1 car per mix bottle ( and I was pressing to get done in 1 bottle on gold class ).

If you are talking bucket, just about any auto soap should work, even cheap house brands. The finish on the other hand might not be the best.

QD as in a Spray & wipe equivalent ?
- On paint, yes. On windows no. SnW is better on windows.
- Also Opti Clean in the 3:1 ratio does well on paint ( quarts & gal concentrate - have not tried 17oz pre mix ) . I have not tried on windows ( I only use SnW )

QD as in Spray & Gloss or or Aquawax as a QD ?
- No, both of these are better than ONR ( ver 2 ) in QD ratio.

If you are not using a foam gun, the best bang for the buck soap in my opinion by far is Meg's Gold Class. PB's SS soap is my favorite, but it is far from economical.

I've never been a big fan of Zymol. Their upper end products are nice, but the consumer level stuff you find on the shelf doesn't do anything for me.

No matter what QD you end up using, you should pick up a couple of bottles of the Meg's QD in the maroon bottle. That is the best fine misting QD sprayer available.

That's Ultimate Quik Detailer (UQD). It's not cost-effective, or even that good, for use as a general QD. It's really made for using after a wash when you are using one of the Megs synthetic waxes such as NXT or M21. It boosts the polymers. It is *NOT* a good clay lube.

If you can find it locally in gallons look for Meg's #34 Final Inspection QD.

Meg's Gold Class soap is probably the cheapest quality soap you're going to find for an over the counter chain store product. As far as waxes and products are concerned, are you getting the results you want with the products you are using now? If you are happy with the results and performance of the product why switch? I personally have a few different wax's that I use and they all there place in what I'm trying to achieve on the car/truck/boat I'm working on.

Durability- Meg's NXT 2.0, Collinite 845, Meg's #16 (this one's a pita to work with so I only use it 1-2 times a year.)

Deep Glossy Wet look- Black Hole or White Diamond topped with Wet Obsession

Durability and Wet Look- Black Hole or White Diamond glaze depending on vehicle color, 2 Coats of NXT 2.0, topped with Wet Obsession.

Quick wash and wax- NXT every time with nothing else.

The Cleaner Wax smell's good enough to drink, I wouldn't recommend it though. I used a few bottles on my '93 GMC 1500 back in 1999-2000 and it lasted about 35-45 day's on the MS Gulf Coast. It did leave an amazing shine on Calypso Blue Matallic paint.

I used the Spray Detailer in 2005 or 2006 and was not impressed at all. It would smear and streak when removing the product.

The UQD is about the only Meg's product I will not use. I purchased two bottles and both triggers broke on the second use. I found it difficult to remove. I have since used Turtle Wax Ice Detailer with great success.

The new Meg's Gold Class High Gloss Detailer and Gold Class Carnauba Plus Quick Wax are great products. I have found them to work and look good on my '94 Oxford White Gen. 1 L, my wifes 2011 Bordeaux Red Metallic Fusion and my 2011 Race Red STX.

The Ultimate Liquid Wax from Meg's is a very easy product to use and it does enhance the paint as well as last around 3 months in AR.
