fyi on wipers
Just an FYI,
I replaced my two year old wipers today becuase they had started to fall apart. I think that the originals are 20" blades, but i replaced them with 22" blades. They look the same, but you can really notice the extra path they clear on your windshield.
Thought it might help others...

I did the same thing, it works alot better. Also don't forget that you have to buy the whole wiper not just the refill to go up in size.

Anybody find a solution to the fact that the wipers do not have enough pressure to keep the screen clear in freezing rain conditions. Unless the defrost is pumping to the point it is uncomfortable in the cab the dam windshield freezes over.

I also changed mine out a couple weeks ago..and went up to the 24 inch size blades. They work great!

Just one more FYI......
NEVER raise your hood while your wipers are in the service position!!
It will leave two nice scratches on the back edge of the hood!
No, I don't know about this from personal experiences........

jb2001,
what size wiper did you put on?
I found that when i first put on the 22" blades, the one on the passenger side did not contact at the very edge of the windshield.
However, about an hour later, when i looked at it again, it did, and it has ever since...

Stupid question but I replaced my wipers on the passenger side wiper. Now the outer edge of the blade will not touch the window. What did I do wrong

I had put on the 20" blades. I think that I will problably upgrade to a better quality. That's probably why the passenger blade won't sit on the window. I think that since so many of you agree with the 22's, I will follow.
What type of blade did you use.

I used motorcraft OEM blades, i felt no need to use a different one, becuase the originals worked well for me for over 2 years.

I purchase metal 22s and they work perfect. I wonder why ford doesn't put 22's on the trucks to begin with?

I thought about this too - but the added amount of friction must be negligable. If there was any, i'm sure we can overcome it by treating our windshields with something like RainX or another glass treatment that sort of 'waxes' the glass.

When I replaced my blades I used a
Trico 45-220 Narrow Blade. The Narrow Blade is required to fit the Ford wiper arm. After reading this I think I will put a 22 on the passenger side and a whole new 24 arm/blade on the drivers side. Driver needs to see more than the passenger.

I put 24" Trico Arms and blades on both sides. Passenger side is a tight fit, but the windshield clean area is much better now.
