[98Screamer is right-TSB with thorough proceedures came out the end of January. I just read it on the Ford Insider Web Site. I did not write down the number. It has procedures to repair if less than 2" (mine), replace the door skin if over 2", and a preventative procedure if it has not happened. I went in the week before warranty ran out and opened the ticket!

Has anyone interfaced with a dealer to see what Ford is doing about the door crack issue? My 2000 XLT just turned 12000 and I want some kind of answer before the warranty sneeks up on me.[/QUOTE]

I have a '00 XLT w/ ~7000 miles. It was delivered July '00. I've had no problems but I am keeping an eye on both doors. I ran across this site while searching for the door crack TSBs:
http://www.autosafety.org/autodefects/ford-what.htm
I looked but couldn't find the door crack TSB. If someone does, would you please post the TSB number and the details?

Gentlemen,
While on the Ford Assembly plant tour last June with the F150online.com people in Norfolk, one of the Ford engineers addressed this problem specifically.
He said on or about July 17, 2000 the problem and fix will be incorporated in the Norfolk assembly plant by the insertion of plastic/teflon type reinforcing spacers in the areas of flexing and stress.
