Clay bar question
I've used it like every 3-4 months. Haven't used it around the wintertime. Like before and after the cold months due to the salt and grime buildup. But def in the beginning of the warmer months and before the fall. Just good upkeep with waxing sealants and keeping the undercarriage free of debris. Just basic maintainance
I do mine twice a year. Clay, paint clean, polish, and then wax. I'm hoping to get a Jeep fairly soon so I'll leave the truck in the garage for the winter. If all works out then maybe I'll only be claying once/yr.

You would have clay alot to get through the clear on most cars.

Well, does anyone know if it is safe to use a clay bar on paint that does not have a clear coat?I have a 83 Mustang GT all original, and was wondering if you can use a clay bar on that paint.I know it does not have a clearcoat because the strip on the hood is black and is a flat black, no gloss at all.
I don't see why not as long as the bar is clean and you use a decent amount of quick detailer or soapy water as a lubricant. Test a small area like behing the front wheels and see. I would do it without worries.
