New Windshield Wipers? Should I go bigger?

Hey guys, I'm not sure where else to post this, but I just got some new windshield wipers, the Bosch ICON blades and they are amazing. My question is, should I take them off and return them and get longer blades. It look like there is plenty of room for me to fit a few more inches, such as 22 inch blades?

Has anyone done this? Will it mess anything up?

I'm running 22" blades... You'll be fine.

Note exactly your full wiper arc. Then measure the new blades from attachment point to both ends and apply the extra length to the arc. If measurements show that they won't hit anything, go for it. Allow a little fudge factor for wind and slop in the linkage.

I had 22" on my 2001 SCREW.... took them off of that truck and put them on my 2005 when I bought it. Zero problems... still on the same set of Silblades (that's right, my wiper blades are nearly 6 years old (and still work nearly as good as they did on day one)!)

I just bought some also, have not used them just yet. Mine are made by trico, same as the Icons, hopefully they will be great.

Im just going to say those Icons are something else. Had a set for awhile and I've never had a wiper as good as these. If you clean your windows at a stop light. Watch the guy on the right side of you -He'll have to clean his after your done

Maybe this is the set I should be looking for.
How are they for ice buildup? Last winter I had to pull over off the highway and scrape the ice off of my OEMs in a blizzard. Not fun. Pretty sure I almost died..twice.

You do get ice buildup, but at least there's no open frame for the ice to accumulate in. They are probably close to as good as dedicated winter blades without the tendency to lift off the windshield at speeds over 45 mph.

For winter, seriously consider a silcone blade. It will be much less likley to tear when you're 'tapping' off the ice... Just a friendly suggestion from a guy that lives in a hot summer, cold winter climate.

Well i replaced them with the 22 inch blades. I like having that little bit extra of viewing room, its nice They fit perfectly too except on the passenger side on the right side of the blade, where the window curves, the blade does not completely make contact to wipe water off (keep in mind this is the extra inch i added) but when the wiper is in motion, once it goes up about 2 inches it contacts the window and wipes off water (it isn't even anything noticeable or something to worry about)

I highly recommend the Bosch ICON blades, I cleaned off my windows as soon as I put them on and they swipe all the water away without a single streak. I am not too sure on how they work in snow and ice since I don't get snow where I live. For rain they are great, but maybe you just ant to use some dedicated winter blades for the snow.
