Well I've got the rest of my black paint looking nice. I made the investment to ADS etc etc. However the from bumper on my truck still looks like a$$ because of the bug stains and other stuff. It has stained my black paint. No matter how hard I try I can't get the stuff off. Is there something i'm missing or am I going to have to look at just getting it repainted?

 

First off, what have you tried on it that isn't working? Is there actually but still stuck on the bumper or are there marks just left on it? Have any pictures to show us? We need to know what the condition of the bumper is and what you have tried on it before we can tell you anything more.

 

I've tried the rain-x bug stuff and some other brands that you can get at you local auto store. The actual bugs are gone it's just the marks that I can't do anything with. I'll try and get some pics

 

Can you tell us anything else you have used to try and remove them. It sounds like the rain-x bug stuff you describe is just for removing the bugs. From what it sounds like you probably are not incredibly into detailing and probably don't have a DA. After seeing the pics, we can give some good advice. Without seeing them, I would suggest going to the local auto store and buy some Meguiars scratch X and Deep crystal Paint cleaner. If you have a DA try using some Megs 80 on it to see how it works.

 

You can also try claying.

 

Claying could work, but what it sounds like is that the bug was left on for a while and began to etch a mark in his paint, but keith is right, I would clay before I tried the other methods. It will be easier to know once a picture is up

 

Clay it and use paint cleaner and a polish.

 

Totally random but I always use WD-40 on my front end. It's potent stuff that's clear coat safe. Maybe it's worth a shot on your truck.
