Cheap water filter/water softener
Anybody know where i can pick up one? Just want to get out most of the crap they put in the water, and some of the minerals to reduce the risk of water spots and so forth. thanks!
Thanks for the help...but 300 bucks isnt really cheap... I am looking for something around 100 bucks... I found these...

Would I need two? one for water filter and then one for water softener or would just the water softener be enough?? I cant imagine that much stuff floating the the water that would hurt the paint??

I know I got about 6 of those DF towels...RP told me about them..I wish I would of known they had to too cause I would of ordered it all at once...

sorry .. should have clarified my response ..
this is the cheapest solution I have found that actually works worth a crap ..
I think the MrC system will work if you have moderately soft water... My water is crunchy. It did not work well for me at all and I found that I spun through those filters like they were candy...
Here's my review of the Spot Free 1000 unit. I find this unit to be VERY user friendly and it's easily regenerated with simple softening salt. The unit isn't 'high-tech' by any stretch but, it works for me. I think the hardness strip test as shown in the aforementioned thread tells the tale...
